  • Top Chef Season Premiere in NY Tonight, Get Ready for Some Drama and Good Food!

       Mr. Cheeseburger

Tonight is the season premiere of Top Chef in New York on Bravo. I’ve seen other reality cooking shows like Hell’s Kitchen, but never sat through an entire episode of Top Chef.  Since it’s in New York (ads are all over the place), I might have to check it out.  I don’t know much about the show except it’s a weekly challenge based competition between chefs.

I’ve seen snippets of the show when my sister (obsessed with cooking) watches in the living room. The show looked very interesting and many of the foods were amazing.  Some of the foods were not so health conscious but others looked like they were. I would love to try some of the stuff these chefs make, although I get the feeling once I start eating their food, I’ll continuously want more.

Have you seen Top Chef before? Are you excited about the season premiere tonight? Do you think you can compete with some of these chefs?

    Yes, I can't wait.

I've never seen Top Chef because we don't have cable, and we don't have cable because we rarely have time to watch TV, so I figure it's ludicrous to spend money on something you aren't going to enjoy. However, if I did have the time and the money to watch some of these cooking shows I would because I just know I would learn so much from them.  My food of choice would be Japanese though because I've heard many wonderful things about the health benefits of eating Japanese food.  Plus the majority of the world's centennarians live in Japan, so there must be some link to their diet and their infamous longevity.

I love top chef!! I am looking forward to the new season. The food they make is way too fancy (aka expensive) for me to even consider adding to my diet, but it looks damn appetizing. I love it when they seem to make something out of almost nothing. The chefs on the show are very creative and I would never even try to complete with them.

I have to say Iron Chef is my favorite.  Bobby is my fave Iron Chef.

I have Top Chef set to be recorded on my DVR.  I love that show, but I have to agree with @VelvetGlove2@xanga ... I love Iron Chef America more.

I'm actually a pretty big fan of "Iron chef" and i can't wait till November 16th, the best episode yet... top chef sounds cool and pretty interesting but iron chef is really my thing... power tools and food combined into one. now that's cooking.

I got hooked on Top Chef during the last cycle, and last night's episode was especially exciting for me- one team was sent to my neighborhood to shop!
