Cell damage from free radicals and the sun is a major cause of aging. Your diet can be the front line for preventing unnecessary damage to your cells that cause aging and cancer. These are some tips to help with protect your skin:
- Flaxseed Oil - is a rich source of Omega 3 fatty acids that will moisturize your skin and make it glow. Omega 3's improve your cell membrane health making your skin look more vibrant. Not only is it good for your skin but also the Mayo Clinic says omega 3's have been shown to lower triglycerides, prevent hardening of the arteries, and in general lower the risk of heart attack!
- Vitamin A - helps cell turn over and will lessen the effects of aging. Although a good prescription cream may be more beneficial for premature aging, without proper nutrition your cells will not be at their peak performance.
- Vitamin E & C - are widely known to be great antioxidants. Antioxidants prevent free radicals, which can damage your cells. This can cause premature aging or even cancer! Make sure your diet is rich in these to prevent cell damage. Eat plenty of vitamin E rich almonds and vitamin C rich citrus fruits.
- Polyphenols - Ever hear green tea or wine was good for you? This is why! Teas, fruits like blueberries, wine, chocolate, olive oil, and beer all contain polyphenols. Polyphenols also destroy free radicals making you super-healthy and super young looking!
Do you take any of the foods and vitamins listed above? Has it helped your skin? What else do you use to help protect your skin?

well less oily foods help..you know why? not cause it's in your system..but when you eat oily foods..you touch your face...your break out. funny huh? but fruits and veggies have lots of vitamins which do help with the body. healthy foods help in general. lol.
my sister takes flax seed, that's probably why she never has any oil on her face.
To protect my skin I eat lots of fruit and drink white tea every day :) And I also use a daycream that has anti-oxidants and SPF25 and anti-aging stuff in it :) Yay! Postpone the Botox.
I don't take any of those, but I drink lots and lots of water which I credit to great skin.
