  • Confusion About Our Post Submission Process

    Dear Healthkicker Readers,

The last few days we’ve had a few angry readers complain we’ve changed their titles and edited some of their posts.  We want to clear some of that up so we can avoid future confusion.  But before we get into that, I’d like to thank all the readers that have submitted posts.  They've been great and have kept the community engaged. So keep it up!

So let’s dig right in.  First, our post submission link on the Healthkicker front page clearly notes we may edit posts after it’s been submitted.  It reads as follows:

    • Please keep in mind, by submitting a post, the editors may make minor edits to the post (grammar, spelling, title tweaking, etc.) If you can, please make sure you pose a question at the end of the post for the Healthkicker community to answer!

We suggest anyone submitting a post to read the page before submitting.  Once you’ve submitted the content, you’ve agreed to the terms and are giving us permission to make edits on posts, if necessary.

Our Suggest Content to Editors Page has the same information:

    Guidelines
    • Suggest posts that you think the general audience will enjoy
    • Posts with no more than 250-500 words are preferred
    • If you're submitting your own, add a question at the end of the post directed towards the general audience
    • Do not submit friends lock or footprints lock sites unless it's your own
    • No obscene content (rated D, or EX)
    • Please note that all submitted posts are subject to editing

Second, we try to keep your post as is.  Meaning we don’t change words or sentences, but on occasion we switch paragraphs around for clarity. We ask that all our readers check out the two submission pages and read the information before submitting posts.

Thank you much taking the time to read this.  Thanks for all the post submissions and comments. They are really engaging and have kept the community flowing.

If there are any questions or concerns, feel free to send us a message and we will get back to you as soon as possible.  Thanks

    -Healthkicker

I think its great that you guys clear some stuff up in the posts we submit. I have submitted two thus far, and noticed some changes. It really keeps us from sounding like idiots, especially if we make a common or accidental typo. KEEP IT UP

thanks for changing the original meaning of people's blogs to make it more controversial and juicy to boost your traffic ad revenue.

I do like the edits. Grammar wise yes. I just don't like seeing a post heading into another direction from what it was intended for over a title and question change....

  • Give eProps (?)

  • New! You can now edit your comments for 15 minutes after submitting.
