Mr. Cheeseburger I’ve been reading some
Men’s Health magazines over the past two weeks or so (Gotta stay healthy, you know for the ladies haha

) I found some interesting facts about some of the everyday products found in the supermarket, companies don’t want us to know.
So for the next few weeks, I’ll list a few of them and look for some more. (Wow I feel like an investigator.)
Kicking it off is what
Keebler (the cookie Elf living in the tree

) doesn’t want us to know:
Keebler claims on their box, the new
Club Crackers are 33% less fat than the original crackers.
That’s true but to make up for the less fat they add 33% more carbs. MMM delicious, fattening carbs.
So, basically when they cut back 1 gram of fat, they add 3 grams of sugar and flour which eventually goes right into your body and makes you fat.
Not so healthy right? Didn’t think so.
Now you know, that little
Elf making cookies in his oven in the tree, is really out to get make us fat even though he claims his cookies are fat free. What a conniving SOB.
Have you been supporting the Elf by purchasing his crackers or his other cookies? How often do you eat Keebler cookies? What’s your favorite?

The key is to not buy his cookies....
It only makes you fat if you can't restrain yourself from eating more than your body needs... neither carbs, protein, or fat are bad because we need them to survive. Any excess calories are stored as fat, regardless of the source. 1 gram of fat has 9 calories and 1 gram of protein or carbohydrate has 4, so ultimately you have an extra 4 calories for each gram swapped (9 for 1 gram of fat vs 12 for 3 grams of carbs). That could end up meaning a couple of pounds gained if you make a habit of eating those cookies (and you may do that, because the fat-free kind usually aren't as satisfying and you end up eating more of them), but it's not that big of a deal if you have a couple. Everything in moderation, my friend...
interesting
wha?! - cookies are fattening!
omg, thats so scandalish.
the cookies with the chocolate in the middle are nice. wally world has a lot of the good stuff.
*rolls eyes*
that can't be true... the keebler elves are so happy. why would he lie to us?! it can't cost much to live in a hollow tree...
well, it's like dietitians say "there is no such thing as bad food just bad portions"
they're okay every once in a while if eaten sparingly(like one serving)
I love their crackers guilty as charged I like them with poanut butter and cheese, yum!.
Have you been supporting the Elf by purchasing his crackers or his
other cookies?
No.
How often do you eat Keebler cookies?
Never.
What’s your
favorite?
I wouldn't know. I don't eat cookies.
@neon_fairy_wings@xanga - Mmmm... poanut butter.
What's a poanut? Is that like a peanut... only cheaper? Like for poa folks?
I would say that there probably are bad foods. Cotton candy and Pixy Stix really have no nutritional value (and they won't do your teeth any favours).
@LadyLibellule@xanga - Oops! I meant peanut NOT poanut sorry about that. :P
yeah you do have a point there but if you brush you teeth afterward and maybe run around a bit it won't be too damaging..Maybe..
as long as you don't scarf down a bag a day, then i don't see the issue in eating those cookies
T_T
this is kind of common sense. things don't taste very good when you take out all the fat and sugar and salt. if you cut down on the fat the sugar or the salt goes up, etc.
if you look at the dietary information & ingredients for processed foods you'll notice stuff like this is very common. solution: don't eat processed foods!
wow, that's really interesting...huh.
I don't like cookies at all; I find them kinda gross. (Which, hey, I bet there are plenty of people on diets who wished they had that same point of view toward cookies.) I'm not very fond of crackers, either. I've never bought those cookies or crackers. (:
It's horrible how deceptive advertising is, but it's also amazingly interesting.
Oooooh I haven't eaten those for a loooooong time. I liked their cookies om nom nom nom.
mm i love the cookies. i havent had them in a long time. but i love club crackers with all my heart <3
The cookies are so delicious though ... =O
I'm still going to eat them. But not like the slovenly pigs that get completely fat off of them D:
There's a serving size for a reason !
If you're eating crackers, you don't care enough to read the label...just saying.
You wanna know something funny? I work for a company called Midstate Mills, and we create the flour that is used to make Keebler Cookies LOL!!! I do all the testing on the flour to see if it has enrichment, bleach, and etc in it, and to check the protein, moisture, and ash!
i can't remember the last time that i ate keebler cookies probably a couple of months ago.
@sparkle1202@xanga - And the award for most intelligent reply goes to you.
i like the elf. he makes good crackers and cookies. lol.
Technically, they're not giving you fat; carbohydrates are in another category of natural fuels. It is only when you live a sedentary life or don't burn enough calories that those carbohydrates convert themselves into fat. Therefore, you can only blame yourself for converting those carbohydrates into lipids.
