Mr. Cheeseburger This past summer on the way to work, I kept seeing an ad for
FitFlop sandals in the train.
The ad was targeting women looking to burn some extra calories while walking but after doing some research, I decided to give it a try even though I was a guy.
I was very glad I did.
Here’s a quick review:
First of all, even though the target audience is women, they do offer men sizes and colors. I bought myself a navy blue pair online for around $45 on sale.
Design: They’re not the most attractive sandals but that’s what makes them affective.
They’re somewhat curved with extra padding at the heel of the shoes, emphasizing the use of the balls of your feet to work out the calves and legs.
It also helps relieves stress on the knee, which is great for me, since I’ve had multiple knee surgeries.
Feel: It takes some time to break into the sandals. Once you do, it’s a very comfortable ride.
I’ve had mine for over 4 months and it still feels very cushy and comfortable. The first week was tough though, I probably should have gotten bigger size. I wear a men’s 9 ½ but bought a size 9.
Durability: I’ve had mine for over 4 months. I’ve worn them strictly indoors but I do use them to do exercises at home.
They are great when lifting weights or doing jumping jacks, even the jump rope.
My feet stay in place, so I don't sprain my ankles. (I hate wearing sneakers while working out at home)
Conclusion: I would highly recommend this for anyone looking for a very comfortable pair of sandals.
I haven’t really noticed any definition in my legs (which is one of the said benefits in their ads) but then again the target audience is women, so it might help women more than men.
But the pain relief in my knees from the sandals was alone worth the price for these sandals.
I’ve seen countless number of women wearing these around the city, so they must be good.
Price: I bought mine on sale during the summer but they can be found on their site,
fitflop.com.
They can also be found at
Macy’s and other retail shops for 49.99+ Here’s a list of stores
that sell them online. Have you ever seen the ads for the Fitflops? If you have bought a pair, what has your experience been like?

I LOVE Fitflops! I literally lived in mine for about 6months straight over summer. Unfortunately its way too cold here to even think about wearing them in Winter which is a shame because I miss them :(
xXx
THAT'S AWESOME. YOU ARE AWESOME MAN
I've never heard of them although I almost think they'd be worth purchasing even though the price is crazy. I lifeguard at a waterpark during the summer and I'm standing on my feet all day, after an hour into guarding my feet are already hurting. Flip flops are never comfortable. I bought a pair of nike ones and those weren't so bad. Thanks for the info.
Humm, not bad for indoors.
oh wow im glad someone decided to write an article about this.. this is AWESOME! i def wanna try it out now!!!!
I hope more ppl post reviews...
um.. you're not supposed to work out wearing flip flops, but proper shoes..
@Aimooo@xanga - I just looked on their website and they have some sort of clog-type shoes that have the same stuff in it (I can';t think of the word)...they're not ugly either.
I have never heard of these before but I am going to check them out.
I've heard that they force you to walk unnaturally, which could cause other problems (perhaps with the back) later. I don't want toned calves that badly.
ick, i hate those type of sandals why couldn't they make something like that out of converse high tops? why choose did they choose the msot ugliest shoe ever...Oh well, I just hate fliflops tis all.
i have been wondering about those. my left knee is bad so thats a major plus if it helps!
Hm, this is interesting. Thanks!
yeah i think i should get one
I've been wondering if they're worth the money. Maybe I'll think of investing in them. But not until the summer.
i have a pair and i pretty much wore them throughout the entire summer. they are comfortable but nothing is more hideous then fitflops and MBT's. when it comes to losing weight or defining the legs, i believe you have to walk or run a lot or else you won't see much difference.
if you are really looking into losing weight and defining legs/strengthening back muscles you should look into MBT snearkers. they too are hideous and very pricey ($250+) but they do work. i have a pair and my husband has a pair and if you're one to walk/run a lot then MBT's are worth it.
This would be my first time hearing about them O_O
Sounds good but they are not available from where I came from.
Ironically, I only see flabby-legged old women wearing them.
I would totally buy them to relieve knee pain if they weren't so horrendously ugly. I do have SOME standards.
$50?! Oh, there is no way. For that amount of cash I will stick to my tennis shoes thanks.
I work at Bath and Body Works. I think they're stupid. When we first got the ad's for them two years ago it basically says the more you walk the more definition your legs will get. NOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Really? Walking does that?! I never would have guessed. People just want an easy fix. Go walking around your block every night when it gets nice out you'll see a difference over time and save yourself $50
hahahaha... i was a band geek in high school...and believe it or not, we used shoes with curved bottoms and raised heels (slightly), just like that to get that smooth "roll step" kinda thing going.
same idea in the sandals...and suddenly its cool. hahaha.
I have never heard of these before...but working out in flip flops that's safe??? That's amazing.
I never understand how people can wear flip flops. yeah, they're cute and all, but I trip every three or four steps while wearing them.
i didn't know so many people had an aversion to flip flops...
interesting concept... if the price were maybe half what it is i might consider it. but i'll keep them in mind for when i have extra money to spare.
More of an ad than a blog. Annoying.
