  • FitFlops Are Great For Your Legs, But Not For The Sore Eyes

      Mr. Cheeseburger

This past summer on the way to work, I kept seeing an ad for FitFlop sandals in the train.

The ad was targeting women looking to burn some extra calories while walking but after doing some research, I decided to give it a try even though I was a guy.

I was very glad I did.

    Here’s a quick review:

First of all, even though the target audience is women, they do offer men sizes and colors.  I bought myself a navy blue pair online for around $45 on sale.

Design: They’re not the most attractive sandals but that’s what makes them affective.

They’re somewhat curved with extra padding at the heel of the shoes, emphasizing the use of the balls of your feet to work out the calves and legs.

It also helps relieves stress on the knee, which is great for me, since I’ve had multiple knee surgeries.

Feel: It takes some time to break into the sandals.  Once you do, it’s a very comfortable ride.

I’ve had mine for over 4 months and it still feels very cushy and comfortable.  The first week was tough though, I probably should have gotten bigger size.  I wear a men’s 9 ½ but bought a size 9.

Durability:  I’ve had mine for over 4 months. I’ve worn them strictly indoors but I do use them to do exercises at home.

They are great when lifting weights or doing jumping jacks, even the jump rope.

My feet stay in place, so I don't sprain my ankles. (I hate wearing sneakers while working out at home)

Conclusion:  I would highly recommend this for anyone looking for a very comfortable pair of sandals.

I haven’t really noticed any definition in my legs (which is one of the said benefits in their ads) but then again the target audience is women, so it might help women more than men.

But the pain relief in my knees from the sandals was alone worth the price for these sandals.

I’ve seen countless number of women wearing these around the city, so they must be good.

Price: I bought mine on sale during the summer but they can be found on their site, fitflop.com.

They can also be found at Macy’s and other retail shops for 49.99+ Here’s a list of stores that sell them online.

Have you ever seen the ads for the Fitflops?  If you have bought a pair, what has your experience been like?
