  • "Food, Sex and Exercise All Go Hand in Hand"

    Submitted Guest Blog

One of my college professors once said, “Sex, food and exercise all go hand in hand, which is why we go out to eat dinner before going back to the room to get it on.”

I thought about that line for a few days.  It had to be true, I mean food in its own right is an aphrodisiac and if we’re going to be “exercising” then we need some fuel right?

But I was still skeptical about the correlation between food and sex.  I didn’t even consider sex to be an exercise.  I was obviously proven wrong with comments on this post.

The following week, he showed us the movie, Tampopo, which had a scene of a couple “sharing” an egg yolk:

The end of the scene, the bursting egg yolk dripping down the girls face, in some sense signifies an orgasm.  So there was a connection between the two, although an egg yolk hardly qualifies as food.

Not to be outdone, George Costanza from Seinfeld, tried to do what most men would never attempt; eat, watch TV, and get a workout during sex:

After watching the movie and then George’s attempt, I realized the importance of our mouth when it comes to sex and food. It plays an integral role in our food and sexual endeavors.

I mean take a look at Ali Larter in Varsity Blues:

She’s luring James Van Der Beek with whip cream.  She could have came out naked and it would have been fine but chose to add a snack he can lick off (even though he didn't go for it).

Up until then, I never really thought about the correlation between food and sex.  It’s not something you really sit and think much about until someone brings it to your attention.

Do you agree with my professor’s assessment; food, sex and exercise all go hand in hand?
