I did the south beach, but modified? It really works, and its not like all of the other diets out there. This is more of a healthy life diet, not something outrageous like the Atkins or "Starve, binge, purge" diet.

This review basically says that the diet is good long-term, but cautions that during the first 14 days, you won't be getting recommended servings of fruits and veggies and thus might feel weak.

Also, losing 5 kg in such a short period of time isn't necessarily healthy - healthy weight loss is usually 1 pound per week, and if you intend any more, you should be supervised by a doctor.
