This past Christmas, I received a bunch of organic snacks called "Organic Healthy Handfuls." At first, I was skeptical of the word "organic," which usually means (to me) flavorless and cardboard-like.
However, in desperation today, I grabbed them from my kitchen and brought them into the office.
I couldn't be happier with these little snackers.
Organic Healthy Handfuls was created by two moms in search of healthy snacks for their kids.
Although I am currently enjoying the Cheddar Cheese Lucky Ducks, these no trans-fat, no-hydrogenated oil, no-preservatives and no-corn syrup gifts from the Heavens come in four other flavors: Lemon Vanilla, Oatmeal Cookie, Chocolate Chip and Peanut Butter.
And so, thanks to this pleasant little cracker, I have set out on a new quest. I am going to find organic snacks. I am going to try organic snacks. I am going to enjoy and report back on organic snacks.
Luckily, I also have the Oatmeal Cookie and Lemon Vanilla ones from OHH, so I'm set for at least three more entries (

). However, I will then need to find more organic snacks to report back on.
Have you tried an organic snack that you loved and would like to tell about? Have you found a (chain) store that is notorious for selling organic snacks? Did you see a new organic treat that you've been curious about?
PS: Yes, I am aware that these snacks are more directed for children. But I can't help it that these taste so good!

awesome!
Organic doesn't necessarily make it healthy. Those taste really good though. Organic just means the ingredients are natural and certified (by the USFDA or other company) as being herbicide, hormone, GMO, pestifide free. They can still contain as much fat and sugar as their non-organic counterparts.
@Erika_Steele@xanga - Yup, well said.
I just stick to organic fruits and veggies, best snack out there.
holy crap, yes!I got the cheese crackers, the duck ones. I got them at GNC on sale for 32 cents a box and i absolutely love them! I do wish they were more salty though, but I think that's because I am used to cheez- its or goldfish crackers.Â
mm I'm in love with organic snacks, i shop at whole foods so they have a lot of good stuff there and i find a lot of it really tasty.
Im a regular visitor of Sharon's blog (http://lowcalocafe.blogspot.com), which mostly talks about different organic food alternatives for people to become more fit and healthy.
Im curious about eating the Frozen Yogurt that she featured in her blog a couple of weeks ago.Its very colorful and delicious-looking that I sooper wanted it to try. ;)
i really like healthy food, so i don't have an issue finding 'healthy' organic snacks. I am perfectly content with some organic raisins or fresh fruit or veggies if I want a snack.
and as someone else stated, just because it is organic doesn't mean it is healthy. I always read the ingredients and make sure it doesn't have any dyes, bad oils or sugars, or very much soy or something like that.
Remember also even though it is organic the flour or sugar could still be refined, and that is practically as bad as it's counterpart. There is basically nothing beneficial left in refined/processed foods.
I do allow myself things like organic baked corn chips or something, sometimes you just want something! I think it is totally okay now and then. But I try to eat foods as close to their natural state as possible. In my opinion they just taste better! And they are better for you.
organic coffee and tea!!!
I've had those before. They are soooo good!
@Erika_Steele@xanga - Thank you for making that distinction - you're absolutely right. Organic does not always mean that it's the healthiest option out there. My reason for doing this is simple: I'm an on-the-go kind of person who plans very little about my diet. That's not to say that I'm eating at every fast food joint or pretzel stand. However, I don't always pack my lunch ahead of time, and I'm usually in class or at work during dinner. My logic behind my quest is that, if I can find organic goodies that I love, it'll make those in-between meals snacking easier on my health.
Lucky Duckies Cheddar Crackers > a Hershey bar. :)
@dropsOFmyLIFE@xanga - Thanks for that link! I definitely plan on checking it out - and hopefully being able to try some of it - like the yogurt! :)
@msenergydrink - I am a student, trust me I get it. There is only one snavk machine on campus that stocks healthy snacks (fruit etc). The rest are 98% pork rinds, chips, and candy.
I just eat fruits LOL. But I do eat organic salads when I'm eating out.
Peta chips! Not sure if they're organic, but they're absoloutely delicious and healthy.
