  • A Fresh Start to Healthy Living

My husband and I have decided to get off our lazy butts and get this weight off for good.  Starting at the end of this week, we are going to start eating better and working out.

What's even better is that we will be getting a second treadmill from my mother-in-law, since she just recently had surgery and won't be able to use it anymore.  YAY!

We both want to have children and add to the family, but the only way that is going to happen is if I get my PCOS under control.

Because I also want to start losing weight and getting healthier, I'll be following a special "diet" for it called The Natural Diet Solution for PCOS and Infertility

I know it is going to be a struggle following it since I won't be able to have my coffee and milk    So needless to say, I will be having withdrawal headaches.  But I know it's something I need to do.

I so thrilled that my hubby is going to be doing this along with me.  I need the support of others.  Not to mention, we want to set a good example for our daughter.  Even though she's only four and a half, she is starting off on the wrong foot as far as healthy eating and exercise goes.

What has been your motivation for losing weight and getting healthy?  Have you been more motivated by personal desires, or by outside influences?

My motivation for losing weight is to be healthier so I can be a better wife and someday, a better mother than I would be had I not lost weight.  I would like to have a baby sometime in the next year, and I know that getting rid of this last bit of excess weight will make pregnancy safer for the baby and myself.  On a more superficial level, I also am motivated by my desire to get out of plus-sized clothes so I can have more options!

I was and am motivated by my personal desire to be healthy, however, then my dad was diagnosed with colon cancer 3 months after I started eating healthy & exercising. That gave me the push I needed to keep going with health & fitness. Now I keep on with it to know that I will have a long & healthy life if I take care of myself.

Good luck to you & congrats on the decision to live a healthy lifestyle! You can do it!

Take care & have a beautiful day!

both. im trying to have more energy so i can stop being lazy and putting off my responsibilities. ive always seemed so tired. also for the summer :p so i can look good. and when i look good, i feel good. Just started this diet and its a lil depressing watching everyone eat crab cakes and roast beef gravy sandwhiches while im eating a whole grain turkey sand. oh well ill get over it lol

My motivation to recently start working out again was realizing that I'm way out of shape compared to 5 years ago when I played volleyball, I want to be able to continue keeping up with my son, and high blood pressure runs in my family(my dad and grandma have it). My dad also has high cholestorol and is overweight and it scares me to death because he used to be in karate and lost weight, but since quitting he has gained a lot back and I'm terrified I will lose them(my mom is on the heavy side too, but more specifically my dad because of the added health problems) long before I should.

Good luck to you and your husband!
