Would you ever consider going to another country for a surgical procedure? Why or why not?

Yes, I think that I would go somewhere else.
A lot of people do since some of the things done are prohibited in the states. I don't see why anyone wouldn't?
Was this inspired by Farrah Fawcett going to Germany to get alternative cancer treatment?
Pfft, not a cosmetic one...I'd go if I needed a life-saving one and a doctor in a different country was particularly talented at it.
It all depends on what procedures one is seeking. From a cosmetics standpoint, there are TONS of procedures that no doc in the USA will perform.
Personally? Any surgeries I could ever want, need, or desire can and more than likely will be performed here in America.
Disclaimer: I mean no disrespect to any foreign country when I say this.
I wouldnt go because the laws, proceedures & treatments are not always certified or verified & if, God forbid, something goes wrong, you're on your own. Not to say the US has perfect laws or proceedures but I've seen far too many women go to X country or Y territory & either not come back right or not come back at all. Life is not worth going someplace else to save money on surgery. It's not that important.
Off topic but certain medicines for conditions...I'm half & half, mostly because the US takes too long to approve medicines or proceedures that can cure something or atleast let people live in comfort. But I would go by scientific facts, not word of mouth.
Yea, why not? In fact, if I do decide to get my breasts reduced my mom already knows the surgeon she's taking me too. He's done her breasts and stomach and my sister might get a birth mark removed by him.
The doctors in Cost Rica and India are some of the best in the world.
Mexico has the best cosmetic dentists. I had some of my teeth fixed in Mexico because I don't have insurance. For what cost me $200 in Mexico would have cost me $5,000 in America.
I would for the semi-permanent cosmetic tattoo. heheh.. Not really permanent...lasts one year.
I would consider it if I wanted surgery, especially if I thought me having the surgery else where would be a better option.
maybe Canada or somewhere in Europe but there aren't many places I'd go.
No, I wouldn't.
If I was rich... LOL SURE. But if not, then no. I'll stick with these.
i know plenty of girls who have! i would too if it was worth it
Hah. No thanks. I'll go to Texas :]
i haven't and definitely won't but this is such a coincidental post because one of my really good friends went to korea last summer to get a bigger eye lid fold so her eyes wouldn't look so "chinky".
nope, i wouldn't actually go for anything surgical procedure if nothing's wrong with me
yes i sure have. i want to be thin perky young and pretty
Would anyone be willing to answer specific questions about your thoughts on travelling for surgery? My friend is starting a medical tourism company and is looking for a better understanding of what people like or don't like about surgery outside of the U.S. If you'd be willing to answer a few questions, please e-mail me at carrieadkinsali@yahoo.com.
