Now I know I'm never going to end up with a body like them but the tag line 'Dance yourself fit!' dragged me into the purchase.
It comes with a warm up, three different dances and a cool down. I went the whole way through...admittedly I stopped twice when I felt like I was going to collapse but it was really enjoyable.
I'm going to try and keep it up doing at least one of the workout sections every day just to see if something like this can replace going to the gym and running on treadmills etc.
Has anyone had success with a workout DVD?

My mom has had major success with workout DVDs. She lost probably about 30 lbs. She's really freaking strong now, hahah, it's kinda scary :P
Denis Austen will get you in shape within a month and you can feel the changes within a week. She really knows how to put your muscles to work. I highly recommend her. Just be careful, you will be hurting the next day if you're new to her. LOL
if you stick to it and push it further then it will work.
if people get bored, they can alternate it like go to gym one day then workout video the next.
ive used one and it works! i recommend turbo jam.
but it also relys on a healthy diet too for better results
They work as long as you stick with them. I use Jackie's DVD, the chick from the Bravo show 'Workout' and when i did it consistently I could definitely see the effects. Sadly I have a tendency of not being able to follow through with things like that. But I would encourage keeping it up!
My mom had amazing results with a step-aerobic tape. Also, those Walk Away The Pounds tapes are awesome!
Not a DVD, but the On Demand videos from cable's ExerciseTV help me when I'm bored with other stuff. I'm into their yoga videos now.
They work only if you work hard on it.. if you fool around and don't take the work out seriously you will not see any results.
exercise vidoes are exercise, so no matter which one you get if you stick with it it should work somewhat. i got hip hop abs off the tv. they said it was cardio, but i had already done enough cardio previously and lowered my heart rate that the video wasn't intense enough for me. it was still pretty fun though, and a good anaerobic work out!
I did a 25 minute walking dvd from Stott Pilates for the longest time, helped me slim down a bit over a year, but I've moved on to more intense stuff and a gym membership! lol
OF COURSE they work as long as they are ones that challenge you. Seriously, its just like taking a class at a gym, no different, except you do them in your living room. My favorite is the Biggest Loser ones, and 30 Day Shred, and Turbo JAM
i don't think going easy on yourself by choosing an easy video is the way to go. it all depends on the level of challenge.
No. Never. Don't think I ever will.
nope, but I have had success with Dance Dance Revolution.
@steph@datingish - Cool!
if you do them, they work. get a bunch so you don't get bored.
They definitely work! Read reviews on Amazon to help you find ones for your level, and keep getting harder ones as you progress. Strength/cardio circuits give you a lot of bang for very short time.
I've had success with workout DVDs, but the problem with them is I get bored and quit doing them because there's no way to change up the workout. I used to do Tae Bo, and I put on muscle, but I found no significant change in weight. My favorite workout DVDs are the Windsor Pilates series. I've got three different ones that I can change up. I like them because they relax me but also challenge me and muscles I hardly use. I've gotten really good results from these, too. In the first ten days, I could tell a difference.
Yes, I have a 30 minute pilates dvd I use. It is excellent.
I can't stand the dance kind.
But pilaties works wonders.
For anyone who likes workout dvds I always advise getting exercise tv on demand.
Keeps it interesting. ;]
I have yet to see a workout video that works solely because of the work-out. I know it sounds stupid, but eating properly and regularly is a big part of losing weight or getting toned. If there is a work-out video that works without really needing to eat correctly (not just claims, I'm talking the real stuff), I'd love to hear about it. But as far as I know - through experience and second-hand information - there really isn't a program that works so miraculously.
lol. I bought slim in 6 years ago. it kicked my butt, but did i end up any skinnier? nooooo.
I had success with Pilates for Dummies. For some reason I never got bored of it.
I have had trememdous success with TURBO JAM & P90X! So much so that I became a COACH and now am able to help others better their lives with these amazing products! You can check out my site and purchase at http://www.coachyasmin.com
Good Luck!! :D
