Have you ever taken medicine that wasn't prescribed to you? Were there any side effects?

I haven't and I think it's stupid. My friends occasionally ask me if they can have some of my vicodin that was prescribed to me for my back pain. Even though I know that it would probably be fine to give them some, I wouldn't want to be responsible for me giving them pills and then them getting into some sort of trouble or sickness because of it. And that's only vicodin. I know people who have "borrowed" ADD pills or something like that. It's just stupid and immature and irresponsible.
i even OD on it! -_-
Yeah, my aunt gave me a lovely little pain pill once when I had a really bad cramp and no medicine. Knocked me out for four hours. :)
I gave a boyfriend Cialis, because he couldn't get hard & wouldn't go the the doctor on his own. Wow. Yeah...Lets just leave it at that. Wow.

Yeah, I was given some leftover antibiotics from a friend when I had a UTI last summer. And my aunt, who's a nurse, gave me some cold medicine with codeine when I was 12.
No way!
Both of my parents are pharmacists. I can't even count for you how many different types of drugs (over-the-counter and prescription) are sitting on a special shelf in our kitchen (not to mention how many have passed through me, even if it were just for a slight cough).
At least they worked? Sometimes with side effects and other times without.
There was one summer where I had this horrible sort of chest infection. I was building up so much phlegm and swallowing so much of it that I was just throwing up green and yellow and having asthma attacks constantly. I was sick for months. I was about 14 and I had no health insurance anyway so going to the doctor was out of the question...one afternoon I was trying to rest on a couch at my friends's house and her dad heard me coughing and gagging so badly for hours that he gave me some left over antibiotics and presricption cough medicines...
Side effects?
I got better in about a week. It's still unclear what I had.

Yep... my mom gave me some of her muscle relaxers once to help my back pain, and some pain medicine she'd been prescribed once for a killer, scare-me-to-death send-me-to-the-ER kind of headache. Besides those, really no. I think I took codeine once and it just puts me to sleep...
I didn't have any side effects, but the stuff Mom gave me actually worked. If my doctor would give me some kind of pain reliever that would work, this wouldn't be a problem...
vicodin. But by accident tho, my BF sister put it in the same bottle as the tylenol, without looking, I accidently took it. made me feel tired that's about it.
Codeine cough syrup, but that was just because I was incredibly sick. And the rest of my family dips into that prescription, anyway, seeing as how a little goes a long way - especially for only one person. D:
