While searching around online about healthy foods to eat I came across
a list of 100 healthiest foods for women. 100 foods is way too much to list in one blog entry, so I'm going to break the list apart into separate entries. For this entry I'm going to give you the list for healthy skin.
These following foods can help keep your skin healthy and looking young because they contain tons of vitamin E and A and loads of anti-inflammatory properties.
Avocados: They've got loads of B-complex vitamins and are an anti-inflammatory. Its anti-inflammatory properties are wonderful for the skin!
Green tea: This drink is full of the anti-inflammatory polyphenols. Again, wonderful for the skin!
Carrots: This crunchy orange veggie is full of vitamin A. Vitamin A helps your skin repair itself! And on a side note, carrots are also great for helping to improve your night vision.
Spinach: This leafy green is loaded with high concentrations of vitamins K and A and manganese and folate. Aside from just helping you achieve healthy skin, it can also help prevent against osteoporosis, heart disease, colon cancer, ovarian cancer, and arthritis. Powerful stuff!
Cantaloupe: This tasty fruit is loaded with vitamins A and C. These two vitamins are needed to keep your skin healthy.
Citrus fruits: Oranges and grapefruit are packed with vitamin C. Did you know vitamin C helps keep wrinkles under control?
Bananas: Containing the B vitamin biotin, this fruit is not only great for getting healthy skin, but it'll also help with getting healthy hair and nails. If that isn't enough, it also helps prevent skin irritations such as dermatitis.
Tomatoes: I'm sure you've heard that this red gem contains lycopene, which helps prevent cancer, but did you know that it's also a source of biotin? Two in one!
Sunflower seeds: These little seeds are a wonderful source of vitamin E. As I'm sure you've heard, vitamin E is well-known for its healthy skin properties!
Hazelnuts: This little nut is another great source of vitamin E. Did you know that this vitamin can also protect against cancer and heart disease?
Olives: These tasty little rounds are full of vitamin E and anti-inflammatory properties! And if that wasn't enough, they're also full of iron.
Brazil nuts: These nuts are packed with selenium. Selenium can reduce the chance of sunburn, slow down the aging process, and aid in the treatment of skin cancer! This nut sounds like a winner to me.
Cottage cheese: Not only does this cheese provide you with calcium, but it also provides you with selenium! Here's an idea, use cottage cheese in recipes that call for ricotta cheese.
Walnuts: These nuts are packed with omega-3 and omega-6 EFAs which promote skin repair and elasticity.
Are any of these foods already foods you consume? Which of these foods would give a try? Which wouldn't you try?

I love all these foods and eat them on more than occasion...last time I checked I have pretty damn nice-looking skin...minus the circles under my eyes...but I get those damn things from my Mama! GENETICS!
I like all of these foods except for cantaloupes and cottage cheese. ick. :)
mmm I love all of these foods! Now I have good reason to eat them more often. Even if they don't improve my skin, they're all very healthy.
I've tried all those food on the list, but I'm not a very big cheese person, so I've tried cottage cheese, but I will not consume it regularly. The other foods are fine with me though. I especially like cantaloupe, avocados, tomatoes, banans, citrius fruits, yeah...i'm a big fruit person =P
Yup, I eat some of these. I would give avocados a try. I can't eat any nuts since I'm allergic to the majority of them.
mmmm these foods are my favs and they help me! :)
i love all these foods except cottage cheese (WTF CURTLED CRAP)
but my favorites are avocados, bananas, and carrots. i probably eat those every day or every other day.
I can't stand the taste of them. Maybe if they were cooked?
Green tea:I drink this sooooo often. I don't add milk or sugar or anything either. Does it make a difference how long you leave the tea bag in?
Carrots:I used to snack on these often. I should start again.
Spinach:Occasionally I switch from lettuce to spinach leaves for my sandwich's and wraps, and ohhh is it good!
Cantaloupe:So expensive, and whenever we buy anything larger then broccoli, it doesn't last. It just rots. Delicious though.
Citrus fruits:
I used to drink pink grapefruit juice, but it's so bitter unless I added gingerale or white grape juice. I love oranges, tangerines, etc. I've eaten about 8 large oranges in one sitting once. hehe.
Bananas:Love them, but my digestive tract doesn't. Heh. I try and make sure I eat at least one of these every few days if I can.
Tomatoes:They never last, they rot... but they are sooo good.
Sunflower seeds:I used to live off these as a kid. I prefer pumpkin seeds though. Are they any good?
Hazelnuts:Delicious.
Olives:I love combining them in wraps, but I haven't in awhile.
Brazil nuts:Not sure what these are.
Cottage cheese:This stuff is delicious!!! Not sure what you can put it with though. I used to eat it on its own.
Walnuts:I've been eating these like crazy lately.
Thank you! I am in dire need of revamping my grocery list.

It's so good with apple butter or with berries, pears and/or pineapple... really any fruit. That's how they serve it at the cafeteria where I work. And yes, most sources I've read say that leaving the tea bag in for green tea releases more antioxidants and polyphenols, but in my opinion it starts to taste really pungent and nasty if the tea bag is left in for more than 5 minutes.
Thx for this list!
I love citrus fruits, spinach, carrots, sunflower seeds, but can't stand banana, avocados and green tea, I just can't haha
I'll eat more avacados which I love. I hate olives and green tea. I might also eat more nuts though I don't digest those too well.

It's important for everyone to review their diet once in a while and
try to get more of the healthy stuff, cheap web hostingespecially if they have problem
skin. am glad to see mangoes are number one! Yummy mangoes - sooo good
for you! :)
It's not always easy to eat healthy, very often I have to choose to eat junk-food at time or eat muuuch later but a healthy food. I absolutely avoid hunger stoppers like chocolate bars and so on. What would you prefer - to eat an unhealthy food but on time or eat later but better?
