How Much Sugar Is In That?
If you’re trying to health healthfully and maintain your weight, you know you need to watch your sugar intake. But sometimes a label just isn’t enough to keep you on the straight and narrow. Sure, a label on a can of Coke can tell you there’s 39 grams of sugar in the soda, but what does that really look like?
A new site called Sugar Stacks can help you visualize how much sugar you’re eating. The idea is simple: translate the sugar content on everyday foods like cereals, fruits and sodas into a stack of sugar cubes.
Some examples are obvious, like the the amount of sugar in a Cinnabon:
Other examples show just how bad you’re being. A 7-Eleven Double Gulp cup of Coke has an astounding 186 grams of suger - about a cup. Here’s what that looks like:
Check out the Sugar Stack website to compare foods, find out where sugar is hiding, and see how much of the sweet stuff you’re really eating.
Does a visual of how much sugar you're consuming make you want to quit? Do you read labels to see how much sugar you're consuming?

I have a sweet tooth so I have to have something sweet each day but I abhor pop.
*LOLSHIPIMP!! I hardly ever do soda and I've never eaten a cinnabon so I guess I'm safe for the moment.....I think I'm afraid to visit that site... *http://maniacsicko.xanga.com/701921600/lolshipimp-//?nextdate=last&leftcmt=1
I don't eat much sugar to begin with.
I don't really consume a lot of sugar, but I just go ahead and drink/eat it anyway and then work out.
That's horrible but i know i won't quit consuming those.
But I love my CinnaBun!!!! T_T
yee! I eat little to nothing of these =)
i stopped eating cinnamon rolls a while ago. i also stopped with coke, but I use the coke rewards, my brother gets the drink xD
I already know.
Man, I really want one of those Gulp things. They were a staple of my childhood - perhaps it's a good thing that I haven't drunk one in like, eight years. Heh. :D
As a bodybuilder I don't consume those things but if you were to consume, soft drinks in particular, do not use real sugar but HFCS. While being chemically similiar (not identical) the way your body metabolizes each is vastly different. You can consume way more HFCS without your body getting the message that you're satisfied, which is the real problem here. That is how most people can consume a standard Coke or Pepsi product without realizing how much sugar they've had.
And the bigger issue is, people want to consume way more sugar than their body can handle... and want to do so without having an insulin response. There's a proportion of the population that can eat as much sugars (carbs) as they want without putting on weight, getting tired, etc. Most of the overweight people just eat like that and then complain when they get fat because they don't understand the differences from carbohydrate to carbohydrate, brown rice vs white rice, HFCS vs cane sugar, the way each is broken down and metabolized based on complexity of starch. HFCS, while bad, isn't the problem; ignorance and lack of motivation are.
/end minor rant.
So fuck you healthkicker for ambiguous title!
omg. ages ago i decided to drink only water and lost 5 pounds. i didn't even drink big gulp or coke or anything like that to begin with, so imagine what you could lose if you do drink that shit and make a commitment to drink only water
yes I read the labels.
ew
that's nice and everything, but more than likely the sugar being consumed here is high fructose corn syrup...which is an even bigger issue.
Oh my goodness. I love coke - look how much sugar I am consuming!!! I will be looking at this site.

wow i don't even remember what coke tastes like. and the gulp drinks too. but i still have my table sugar every now and then, especially when i have my pms cravings.
i'm all for distilled water =)
That made me hungry for Cinnabon. LOLLL!
I only eat sweets when I'm craving it and I don't drink soda, so no biggie.
