Healthkicker Logo: Disregarding Our Health?
So I was reading some entries on the Healthkicker website.
Not really paying attention, until I finally looked at the header image (which I have conveniently chopped up to the most important aspects):
Does anyone besides me think it is a bit odd that whoever designed this website picked a hick-ish looking dude giving a suspicious glare to a double (no - triple!) pattied burger? What person in their right mind would deny that amount of deliciousness?
Then it hit me: it has spinach on it. That dark leafy green on top is not your usual iceberg, but baby spinach leaves! So obviously, that makes the burger über-healthy, and therefore something our average American stereotype-man needs to be suspicious of. Which causes the glaring at what looks to be a perfectly scrumptious meatwhich.
Obviously a sign about how little we regard our health (kick away any greens that are darker than seafoam!)
Do you think the Healthkicker logo is suggesting anything? If so, what is it suggesting?

It's suggesting that that burger looks disgusting.
I wouldn't eat it... it's basically dripping in fat.
I think it's suggesting --as the bottom header says-- trying to live healthier, trying being the operative word. I think trucker cap guy is trying to avoid the triple-pattied deliciousness of the burger to the side. But what do I know?

Huh, I've never much liked the HealthKicker logo, but that's just my personal opinion. (Of course, personal opinions are pretty much all we're giving on Xanga.) I think it's because I think something yummy and healthy should be put at the top of the page, not something unhealthy. I do think the suspicious glare is kind of hilarious though.

I think it's pretty much showing a guy who's looking at the burger in an untrusting way. It kind of symbolizes that the burger is shit, unhealthy even though it's got green on it. Kind of like, "It's trying to look healthy, but I know it's not healthy."

I think it's suggesting that the temptation is always there. And personally, the guy doesn't look THAT hickish...I mean, the trucker hat doesn't do anything for me, but he could just be representative of an "average" person. He looks like he's thinking, "You're not gonna get to me burger; I don't really want you!"
And, I like it. It kind of adds some comic relief to the idea of being healthy. Some people find healthy living to be boring, but if you can take time out of your day to look at a burger and put your fingers up in a cross and hiss at it, you can laugh and feel better about your choices.

i don't think a hat makes someone a hick though, i think it's just a guy with a hat. looking at a cheeseburger. i like the logo though. i think it's cute.
I always thought it suggested that Xanga was too lazy to come up with an appropriate logo for Healthkicker.
wow i never noticed the spinach. I just thought that the unhealthy burger was there trying to taunt him and he wasn't letting it....
That burger does look good though...spinach and all... Yummm! =)
