There are many different studies, diets, etc. out there saying cut back on this, or a diet high in ______ is best, or eat this many meals a day, eat a lot of vitamins.
I personally believe EVERYONE is different. Some may feel best eating 5 higher-carb snacks throughout the day, while others feel better eating a couple higher-calorie meals. .
Some people can tolerate more refined sugars, while they give others big blood sugar hikes and crashes.
What foods/combination of foods work best for you?

I do best sticking to a vegan diet and excluding refined sugars completely. It's not easy, but for me, it's worth it. I stick to fresh veggies, brown rice, beans, etc.Â
Whatever nature intended me to have - fruits, vegetables, whole grains, etc.
Healty food, lots of different things and not too much sugar. But I almost only manage to eat like that when I have enough time, for instance during summer break.
Healthy vegetarian foods. Specifically, I usually feel and perform my best when I've eaten a lot of fruit and nuts.
I function best on a high-raw, mostly vegan diet. Too much cooked food or heavy protein makes me feel sluggish and heavy.

I do best by NOT eating red meat and eating plenty of fruits and vegetables. also, eating salmon/shrimp/clams and taking a vitamin C chewable because I need the iron.
Carbs. I cannot work out without carbs in my system. I'd be useless.
some scientists say that people with type A blood should eat a largely veggie diet and type B/O should eat a largely meat diet.
To tell you the truth, I don't know what my body works best on, because I pretty much eat different things everyday. I don't really have that "one thing" that's a staple in my diet. No cereal every morning or something like that.
I can tell you, that certain greasy foods give me heartburn for whatever reason, so I try to avoid those.
I have to have meat and cheese.
I love it.
& I noticed I function so much better with it.
