  • 50% of People Don't Know Where Their Heart is, Do You?

Take your hand right now and find where your heart is.  If you can't don't worry, more than half of people can't find it either. That's according to a new study.  Here'e more info via Health.com:

If home is where the heart is, a new survey suggests that most people aren’t sure exactly where they live. More than half of people cannot pinpoint the exact location of the human heart on a diagram, and nearly 70% can’t correctly identify the shape of the lungs, according to the survey. This lack of knowledge isn’t just embarrassing—it could lead to a poorer quality of health care, some experts say.

I'm genuinely concerned that so many people do not know where the heart is.  It's one of the first things I learned when I went to the doctors.  I actually remember that day like it was yesterday.  The doctor took his stethoscope and played it on my chest and on my heart to hear my breathing.  I never knew what those things were for.  At some point I thought it was some x-ray device that allows him to see right into my heart.  Afterward he asked me if I played any sports because my heart was beating really well. I was a kid so I was amazed he could tell just by my heart that I was an active kid.  So from that day on, I never forgot where my heart is.

If someone asked you where your heart is, can you show them right away?  When was the first time you learned where your heart was?
