Ways To Eat Healthier At Work
Sometimes, when I'm working I can't eat anything. For me it was not so comfortable. But I know I need to eat. And there isn’t way to eat at work also well as at home, if you don’t work in restaurant…Welcome to the busy working lifestyle - where the combination of poor nutrition and high stress make for a sick and tired person - and most probably overweight as well.
But we need to find way to make or meal healthier. So check out these ways by Kavit:
1. Keep a bowl of nuts on your table. Eat a handful of nuts daily around 3-4 pm to boost afternoon productivity.
Nuts are very healthy for you. Frequent eating of nuts appears to dramatically improve health. And no mater what kind of nuts you eat.
Incorporating more nut and nut-containing foods into the diet at the expense of foods full of saturated fats could reduce cholesterol levels by six per cent.2. A bowl of fruit. Keep a bowl of fruit on or near your desk and reach out to have one every few hours. Try to get through at least 3-4 fruits a day. Have your favorite ones and put them on your shopping list for each week.
Fruit and vegetables can help keep your body fitter, healthier and happier. They are always tasty and light. Eating fruits can help to prevent heart diseases and some cancers. Evidence shows however, that many of us are not listening to this healthy eating advice (it’s not about you, right?).
3. Keep a water bottle or filter system near your desk. Reach over to your bottle very often, at least every half hour to have a big sip. Keep hydrated and your cells will flourish.
I’ve wrote about benefits of drinking water.
4. Take a walk during lunch. Don’t drive to the shop - walk. Do the same if you’re going to the post office or bank if it’s local. Keep your blood pumping.
I like to walk. Walking is one of the simplest and safest exercise you can do easily. It can help you strengthen your bones, control your weight, and condition your heart and lungs.
5. Cut down on caffeine. You can actually ban the coffee from your cubicle. Get rid of the bottle. Settle for juices or water instead.
Oh, it’s hard, you know. But not only coffee contain caffeine.
Also diet-blog provide here and here ways to improve your diet and healthy eating at work. Eat and drink healthy, indulge yourself with working.Caffeine is an addictive drug. Among its many actions, it operates using the same mechanisms that amphetamines, cocaine, and heroin use to stimulate the brain. On a spectrum, caffeine’s effects are more mild than amphetamines, cocaine and heroin, but it is manipulating the same channels, and that is one of the things that gives caffeine its addictive qualities. If you feel like you cannot function without it and must consume it every day, then you are addicted to caffeine.

I'm just a college student, but I find these tips very helpful!
i tend to bring a few servings of fruit... banana, peach, apple... and then when i get hungry i'll eat one of those. i also have a box of multi-grain cheerioes in my drawer and a tin of almonds :)
these are just snacking foods. i tend to eat when i'm stressed, so why not eat something good for my body? plus it keeps my metabolism going :)
My problem is that I don't have time to cook/make a lunch and bring it to school/work. But then I just discovered Lean Cuisine =D
i think my solution to eating better at work is to leave all sources of money at home.
I drink minereal water and avoid eating any sweets we have in the office.
Eating nuts as part of a healthy diet can be good for your heart. Nuts,
which contain unsaturated fatty acids and other nutrients, are a great
snack food, too. Still, if you are on a diet don't eat to many nuts - they are high in calories!
I've started incorporating nuts to help keep me away from the afternoon munchies of chips.... great ideas.
Your grandmother
probably told you when you were a kid to make sure that you ate plenty
of healthy foods such as vegetables and fish to keep your mind and body
strong. Turns out she was definitely right. There are many types of
brain power food that contribute to the overall health and optimal
functioning of the brain.
