I've never been one do this but the last few weeks I've been getting second at the dinner table. I eat dinner with my family 3-4 times a week and almost every time I reach for a second plate of food. No one has complained. My mom love the fact that I'm eating more and not complaining. My dad even said I look healthier.
I didn't I was doing this until I came with my cousin to visit my parents. After getting my second plate of food, she looked at me in shock. I asked her what was wrong, she said she'd never seen me eat two plates of food before. (I've always been one plate that's it).
I told her I needed to eat a little bit more because I was hitting the gym harder than ever before And I needed the extra carbs and energy to keep me going for my entire workout. Even after dinner she was laughing at me getting seconds, saying "I thought the world was coming to an end".
How often do you get seconds at the dinner table? Has it been a recent trend or something you've always done?

I don't have dinner. I don't eat big meals. I eat several smaller meals throughout the day.
i've stopped going for seconds; i've also stopped eating big meals; and i've also stopped going to all you can eats; and i even stopped asking for extra rice/pasta/noodle... nowadays, i just eat what i need...

When my body was growing I used to get seconds (and even thirds) of really good food my mom cooked. Now I just eat one plate because I am finished growing and I now have a mentality of "it can be eaten tomorrow as leftovers" instead of "gotta finish it now!"
hardly ever and when I do get "seconds" I might get a spoon of something I really liked.

i usually have seconds. i've always been that way since i was young, and even though i'm on a plan to lose weight, it's still seconds for me. i can never resist; i'll just work harder the next day. :P
Hmm, depends on what it is. Generally I don't, but I'm never full when it's time for cake.
Hardly ever... but sometimes I will grab for an extra spoonful of something...
I really hate being a glutton and needing more food but your excuse is perfectly reasonable. If I get into a really heavy training cycle it's like I can't eat enough. My metabolism just eats through everything like its going out of style... Other than that, I'm a one plate guy even at thanksgiving.
Depends what's for dinner. Most of the time I don't though.
i've always done this, even as a really young kid! i usually end up getting thirds too if i'm hungry and feeling up to it :D at restaurants i completely ignore all self-restrain and eat up to fifths xD

I always get seconds. Always have. I do it because I like to eat and it ain't like I'm gonna gain anything from it.
getting seconds is not such a big deal...
always...well, if its velveeta mac and cheese, than yes.
