Birth Control: Does it Really Increase Your Bust Size?
I am one of those oh, so blessed girls who has been stuck in the A-cup department since the eighth grade. My mom told me in high school- "Just wait until your senior year, and you will blossom."
(Graduation passes me by)
"Just wait until college."
(I'm now headed for my junior year in college)
See where I am going with this? My friends often tell me "I wish I had small boobs- they look so much classier in low cut tops and dresses."- but I can't help but think how much more confident I would feel with larger breasts. I sometimes feel like my small breasts take a little bit away from my womanhood, if you will.
With that being said, I refuse to get implants. I prefer being all natural. And to be honest, the thought of that procedure scares me a little bit. I am curious though.- I have never been on birth control before because my friends who are on it constantly complain about the weight gain and the moodiness caused by birth control.
Is it true that birth control does, in fact, cause your bust size to increase, or does it just make you gain weight in general? If this is so, would any of you fellow A-cupped ladies be willing to take birth control for this reason, even though it may potentially effect your mood and/or weight?

i started taking birth control (for medicinal reasons) during the summer after my senior year of highschool - i am also going into my junior year of college and i'm still a negative A :-\
I've been on the pill for 2.5 years now and I've had no change in my weight or chest size which for me is good.
Big Boobs are overrated. We all want what we dont or cant have, then when we get it, we dont want it so much. Smaller breasts are a blessing. No shoulder or back problems. No men leering at you constantly. Ability to wear damn near anything. LOTS of men and women prefer small breasts, so you should have no problem in the sexual partner department. The women I have known who have been on the pill have increased weight overall, not just bust size. Learn to appreciate the equipment you have, and find ways to accentuate the positive aspects of it.
Birth control can cause a slight swelling of the breast while you are taking the medication, but the change is not drastic or permanent. Once you stop taking the medication the breast size will most all of the time return to the pre-BC size, if there was any significant change to begin with. It depends on your hormone profile, but BC can make you gain weight in general, as it causes some further retention.
my friend was on birth control...her boobs got bigger but she also gained weight in other places too.
I've been on birth control for about a year now, and I haven't gained any weight, nor have my boobs gotten any bigger. I've been on two different kinds, too.
A part of me thinks that some girls use birth control as an excuse as to why they gained weight. If anything, it's not the pill itself; it may just cause you to be hungrier than normal. In which case you need to be aware of what you are eating, and limit yourself, to avoid weight gain.
It made my friend's boobs get a cup size bigger, but she didn't gain weight..
When I first went on bc I ended up going from a 34A to a 34B. So it helped me fill out a bit.
I lost weight when I was on bc, but I lost like 30lbs before I was pushing an A cup again.
Since back in the good old days Ive not got a pair of 36C's (I put on quite a bit of weight). But to be honest gaining weight increased my bust far more tha birth control did anyway, so unless you need it for a legitimate reason such as pregnancy prevention, to make your period more manageable or to clear up acne, I would not bother. The side effects of moodiness are a big downside (this only happens with some brands, it depends on what amouns of estrogen/pregesterone are combined) and its unlikely you will find the best brand for you first time round (mine was second try lucky).
Hope this helps!
My bff went on birth control when she was 17. She went from a size B to a size C. Someone else she's knows got a whole cup size bigger from irth control as well. It doesn't happen for everyone but it can happen. You do also gain weight.
I am currently on the Shot [depo vera] in hopes that I will get a cup size bigger. That would be enough for me. [38A] My bff says it takes about 3 months or so before you notice.
I would not take the pill because it makes a lot of people want to kill themselves, as was the case with my bff. So she switched to the shot and has never been happier. I feel like it's the best idea ever.
I HOPE I GET BIGGER BOOBS! I HATE BEING FLAT CHESTED AND I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND WEHERE YOU ARE COMING FROM!
I agree with everyone else, everyone's body is different. Some people gain weight, some lose, some bust sizes go up, some don't. I personally am not currently on birth control (18 now, but I'll seriously consider it in couple years) just because I'm kind of nervous to do any sort of alteration to my body, and I don't really have a need for it right now (at a healthy weight, fairly clear skin, ...). I feel ya on the A-cup size though :( It just doesn't feel like you really "fill" out your blouses and whatnot. I'm not asking for a D cup (lord no, D girls have complained to me about how they hate their boobs, how they're a hassle, how they always have to buy the next top size up and then it doesn't fit right), maybe just a humble little B because of my petite frame :)
Quick solutions if you're desperate:
1. gain 20 pounds
2. have a baby
3. socks and/or Kleenex! hahhaa
I can't comment of the increase in bust size...cause..well..obviously I don't know.
However...what I can comment on is the perceived lack of confidence. Women are under the impression that all guys want is some big breasted blonde bimbo. This isn't the case. There are many men that don't care about breast size at all.
It's an overall weight gain. Although when I lost the extra weight elsewhere, my bust stayed the same.
I used to have an A-cup and I miss it A LOT. I went up two full cup sizes and I really can't stand all the trouble that comes with having larger boobs.
Also, birth control is a really big responsibility even if you're not taking it to protect from pregnancy. I don't think it's worth it just for the cosmetic benefits.
I've been blessed with an A cup as well. I went on birth control a few months ago and I went from being just barely an A cup to a full A cup where I can almost wear a small B cup. I did get bloated for about 2 months but bloating's gone down and my boobs are still bigger so I can't complain.
I think it depends on the strength of the birth control. They have low hormone birth controls and well, regular. My friend went from between an A and B to a C cup when she went on Yaz.
I was a 34A but now that I'm on birth control I am a solid, very nice 34B. When I got married I got on the NuvaRing- it's hormonal birth control but I don't have to take any pills and I haven't heard of anyone having side effects as badly as on the Pill. I haven't had any mood problems- in fact, my terrible, monstrous PMS is gone and I love it. Well, I felt PMS-y for one day the first week I had my very first ring in, but every since it's been smooth sailing. My guy totally noticed the difference in my bust size and just LOVES it.
According to my scale, I actually haven't gained any weight since starting the NuvaRing in March. I know that doesn't make sense considering my boobs are a little bigger and it had to come from somewhere, but maybe I lost a little all around and gained something in the boobs. If I eat too much salty food my tummy does look a little pudgier than it used to, but drinking a lot of water always helps with that.
If you need to get on birth control anyway, try the NuvaRing if your insurance will help you with it. (Otherwise it's like $60 a month.)I always said I should be happy with my A cup and I was actually okay with it, but I like my current size even better. (Even my husband who claims he likes small breasts better prefers my B size. Go figure. >.
O was always a small A-Cup until I went on the pill. I'm now a small B-Cup. However, along with bigger boobs came a bigger tummy, a bigger podge, and a bigger butt. I look much more "womanly" now, but I think I prefer the days when I was a stick with smaller boobs! LOL
My boobs didn't grow, nor did I gain weight. I even went from name brand birth control to generic, and still, not boobage growth or weight gain. thank god!
I'm a bcup and I really have no problem with it. I'm actually quite tall and slim/muscle-y and it doesnt really bother me that my boobs arent as big as my friend's. actually, ever since i first started to develop them I didn't care much about size. i still dont care.
I've had breast reduction. I was a G cup, and I'm happy being a D cup. I know that isn't considered "small", but to me it is! I've heard birth control increases bust size, but as soon as I get health insurance, I want to get it. I'm sure there's some out there that don't increase it though. Hopefully for me. :P
i've been on bc for about 7 years now and haven't really noticed anything major about my body or weight gain. when i was first getting on it, people used to tell me about how they would gain weight from it and it made them so moody and their sex drive go down, but it's been 7 years, i actually lost 40 pounds and kept it off for 5 years, my sex drive is normal, and i have my occasional mood swings but thats just part of being a woman. and my bust size didn't change, i've always been blessed with bigger boobs.
i've just been on my birth control pill about a week as of today... ortho tri-cyclen. and already, i'm a fuller b-cup, but have lost a couple pounds this week.
would you seriously rearrange your body chemistry for bigger boobs? wow....your life, your body, whatever makes you happy....i just wanted to comment that being large in the chest isn't that great. at 16 (i'm 18 now) i went from A cup to C, and am currently a D. i'm pretty short and small everywhere else....nothing fits! can't find a button down blouse anywhere, guys don't look me in the eyes, and people ask me about breast enhancement surgery...not to mention the "slut" factor....i would do almost anything for a nice B cup, maybe a C....I'm sure you look great just the way you are! =)
um. it does increase size, but not alot.
For me, i was a full C cup when i started BC and it pushed me into a D.
My friend was a small B when she started but is now a full B.
Im sure it affects people different anyhow. If your a full A. Perhaps it'll push you into a small B?
my boobs have grown a little since i started birth control about a year and a few month ago. it won't move you up a cup size. not everyone gains weight, some girls lose weight.
xo
I'm still an A cup.
