It is day 33 for me and my husband's makeover--so far, we've each lost about 12 pounds, have learned to snack healthy (thanks for everyone's advice on that!), are eating good meals, and have been working out 5-6 days a week, an hour swimming and running. We feel great and are pretty happy, but we're wondering how we can keep it up when we go into work/grad. school--we'd like to have some DVDs to use on the days when we're too busy to get out of the house. However, I have no idea what some great cardio workouts are--I've heard names like Jillian Michaels being thrown around, but don't know who these people are or what their workouts are like.

We loved doing a Bollywood workout with a Sarina Jain's DVD once (that's her in the picture), and are open to different things (although keep in mind my husband probably won't do belly/pole dancing), especially ones you think are fun. We do have a Wii Fit, but get bored with it from time to time. Give me a name, workout, DVD, or whatever you can remember. Preferably something from 20-60 minutes long, plenty of cardio work, and a good time is always a plus!
So, I humbly ask your advice--who do you like to work out to? What are some of the most fun DVD workouts you've tried?

Richard simons ftw. :O oh schanp.
MTV put out a good series of Pilates/Yoga DVDs which are fast-paced enough to count as cardio in my book. I think that the instructor was Kristin McGee, or something like that.
I know you said no belly dancing, but my favorite has become FLN's Shimmy. My roommate and I dvr it. So fun! My hips and back have never felt better. We also dvr namaste yoga as well as all star workouts. Love both of them too. The all star workouts change up a lot. They've done hip hop, belly dancing, kick boxing, etc. Fun fun.
30 Day Shred with Jillian Michaels left me sore for 2 days. It was awesome! I also enjoy Tae Bo (even if Billy Blanks gets a tad annoying. I recommend muting him) and the Method Pilates, although, that's not cardio. ~ L
I enjoy a lot of the yoga and cardio episodes from various DVDs offered by Comcast OnDemand, and Priscilla's Yoga Stretches on PBS are good (even if you're old). I occasionally also stream some videos on ExerciseTV.com and other websites that offer free, legal workout videos.
Turbo Jam is also a good workout. I did it a couple times with my little brother at my mom's house (I'm too cheap to buy any DVDs myself). He was getting ready to go into the Marines, and it apparently was good enough for him :D
@empress8411@xanga - I was honestly a little disappointed by the 30 Day Shred, although I totally stole one of her moves (traveling push up) to use in my personal trainer audition. I think it was one of the main things that helped get me the job. :P To be fair, I told my boss she was my personal hero, so at least I gave her credit for it in a round-about sort of way.
@methodElevated@xanga - If I may ask, what about the 30 Day Shred did you not like? Everyone I know adores it, but then, you sound like a professional, and me, not so much, lol. ~ L
@empress8411@xanga - It was boring and not hard enough. I couldn't stick with it for more than a week because I got so bored with it. I require a more varied workout to keep me entertained and driven.
Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred Challenge!!!
Great for Moms who don't have a lot of time to workout!
turbo jam for sure. has various work outs that, from 20 - 50 minutes. has a lot of cardio, focus on lower body, or sculpting. and the musix is sooo good, that you seriously dont get bored of it. alot of cheap ones can be found on amazon or ebay
i've heard AMAZING things about jillian michael's workouts, especially the 30-day shred. check them out! :) and congrats on living healthier and the weight loss!
I just ordered these "Island Girl" workout tapes that use elements of Hula and Tahitian dance with cardio and ab workouts. I use a kickboxing one too that makes me feel like a bad ass (even though it really shouldn't).
I'll just say I would never workout to these in front of ANYONE (haha) but they are really fun!
Figure out what you would want to learn and I promise you'll have fun with it.
P90x....all the way boys n girls!!
All the Flirty Girl Fitness DVD's!!! Because they're so much fun that I don't even realize I've been working out for like two hours. My fav in the collection has definitely got to be: Booty Beat.
@Titanic_Spaz@xanga - X me baby.
Haha.
I'm a fan of the One-on-One workouts with Jackie. Totally effective and I'm not really one for jumpy, gimmicky dance stuff so it works for me.

@Titanic_Spaz@xanga - Is P90X really any good? One of my coworkers is lending his set to me. Gonna see how it goes.
My friend is Indian and she taught me how to dance Bhangra... damn, it IS HARD. takes a lot of energy.. and definitely a good workout, also.
Zumba DVD's FTW! And they do have classes which are so much fun. Basic salsa, merengue, bachata, samba and everything else. And your hubby doesn't have to worry about strip and pole dances. LOL
@bee67@xanga - Yes yes yes. It is great but be prepared to be sore for a while since you work a new body part every day.
@Titanic_Spaz@xanga - Hell yeah! I've been doing it for a few weeks and I freaking love it. (:
haa i lovee turbo jam lol
@HeartsXSmilesXLies@xanga - I love Booty Beat! I haven't tried the Chair dance yet, but I can't wait!!
@bee67@xanga - It's very good. Very comprehensive. Has a diet plan to go with it too. Plus, you can do it with very minimal space and equipment. And last but not least..if you ever need motivation, look for P90x results in youtube. =)
@lovemonkeyy@xanga - Isn't it the best?!? lol More people need to be on the P90x train =P
@Titanic_Spaz@xanga - It's become quite the trend here in Houston lately. I love it, though. (:
