Wouldn't these Cardio Machines Make Your Life Much Easier?
I'm a huge fan of movies that deal with the future, such as the Back to the Future series, The Minority Report, The Fifth Element, and... I can't think of any more off the top of my head right now. While no one knows if what’s depicted in those movies will actually happen (hopefully while I'm still alive), I think it's so amazing how technology has and will continue to improve people's lives, such as the Internet, iPods, and touch screen phones.
With that being said, the idea of inventing (not literally) futuristic health-related-devices, equipment, or whatever you want to call it recently crossed my mind. So, here's a list of things which I thought would be nice to have in the future...
1. A calorie-counter-watch-- I know lots of foods and restaurants already label the calories, but not everything does. For instance, if you eat a kiwi or an apple, do you know the EXACT number of calories you're consuming? Not every fruit comes in exactly the same size and weight, so you just end up guessing at how many calories you have consumed. And plus, isn't it such a hassle to count calories all day? So, why not wear a calorie-counter-watch, which would automatically count your daily calories for you? (I don't know how it would work, but I think it would definitely be nice to have one).
2. A treadmill/elliptical/or stationary bikes with different screens you can choose from-- I'm not talking about TV screens here. I'm talking about a screen with “imaginary scenes” you can choose from that can push you harder if you need to, and make your workout more enjoyable! For instance, if you need to push yourself to run faster on a treadmill, you can select an animated image of a monster chasing you, or you chasing someone. If you want to simply enjoy running without pushing yourself, you can choose a scene with a beach or forest that has the sound of birds chirping and breeze blowing in your face. Wouldn't that be nice?
3. A portable cardio machines and weights-- If you need to travel or just can't find a second to squeeze your workouts into your day, then these might be for you (I just realized I totally sound like I'm advertising these products). They would be about a dime size to start with, but when you pushed a button, they would inflate and become the size you would see it in the gym. After you workout, you would push the button again, and the machine/weight would deflate, allowing you to put it in your pocket or in your purse (And of course, they will be as light as a dime).
What do you think about all these future workout products? Do you have anything that you would like to invent?

i really like the calorie counter watch. thats a cool idea
The last one sounds like a dyno cap from DBZ.
I kinda like the idea of a watch that some how knows how many calories I eat w/o me having to wade through pages of preset foods on calorie counter and get an estimate. That way once I reached my rmr for the day I'd know to just stop eating.
i want the first one... but i'd get obsessive with it.
The second one sounds like a neat idea. They already have something like that for stationary bikes, though. I forget what they're called, but they were on the Price is Right a couple times.
maybe there will be a medical device to just lose weight. a hollodeck would be great to run in......
@Anubis753@xanga - or to play sports in: in the event its canceled from rain......
I'm a fan of running on the track or in the park. It's so much "funner" for me and knowing that I'll be burning more calories in the same amount of time due to the wind resistance compared to the treadmill, I'm happy enough. :)
@RoastedMarshmallow@xanga - I agree; running outside feel sooo much better. I never feel sore after running on a tredmill, but a mile outside kills me, lol.
all of those already exist.
I love #2. When I was younger and on swimteam I would always imagine a shark chasing after me in the pool. I might have gotten out crying, but I always won first place ;)
yeah iwant sum 1 2 build me a gym iin my
flat all donations greatly received x
i love the calorie counter watch idea!
i can see where #3 would come in, but EVERYONE has at least 10 minutes to spare and there are plenty of 10 minute butt-burning workouts out there!!
calorie counter is absolutely golden though!! one of these days they will!
How about a true exercise-while-you-sleep machine. This is not just some pill or ab device from late night television. No, this is a bed, with medical hook-ups. The bed puts you to sleep, and keeps you sedated. While you are out, your muscles are electrically stimulated to contract and relax repeatedly all night long.
For the morbidly obese, this could be a hospital treatment. Simply keep them in the bed, being fed vitamins and limited calories in an IV, until they reach their goal weight. A six month nap should fix just about anyone.
those are cool ideas.. i like first and second oneee
I want the watch :P
