  • Wouldn't these Cardio Machines Make Your Life Much Easier?

I'm a huge fan of movies that deal with the future, such as the Back to the Future series, The Minority ReportThe Fifth Element, and... I can't think of any more off the top of my head right now. While no one knows if what’s depicted in those movies will actually happen (hopefully while I'm still alive), I think it's so amazing how technology has and will continue to improve people's lives, such as the Internet, iPods, and touch screen phones.

With that being said, the idea of inventing (not literally) futuristic health-related-devices, equipment, or whatever you want to call it recently crossed my mind. So, here's a list of things which I thought would be nice to have in the future...

        1. A calorie-counter-watch-- I know lots of foods and restaurants already label the calories, but not everything does. For instance, if you eat a kiwi or an apple, do you know the EXACT number of calories you're consuming? Not every fruit comes in exactly the same size and weight, so you just end up guessing at how many calories you have consumed. And plus, isn't it such a hassle to count calories all day? So, why not wear a calorie-counter-watch, which would automatically count your daily calories for you? (I don't know how it would work, but I think it would definitely be nice to have one).

        2. A treadmill/elliptical/or stationary bikes with different screens you can choose from-- I'm not talking about TV screens here. I'm talking about a screen with “imaginary scenes” you can choose from that can push you harder if you need to, and make your workout more enjoyable! For instance, if you need to push yourself to run faster on a treadmill, you can select an animated image of a monster chasing you, or you chasing someone. If you want to simply enjoy running without pushing yourself, you can choose a scene with a beach or forest that has the sound of birds chirping and breeze blowing in your face. Wouldn't that be nice?

       3. A portable cardio machines and weights-- If you need to travel or just can't find a second to squeeze your workouts into your day, then these might be for you (I just realized I totally sound like I'm advertising these products). They would be about a dime size to start with, but when you pushed a button, they would inflate and become the size you would see it in the gym. After you workout, you would push the button again, and the machine/weight would deflate, allowing you to put it in your pocket or in your purse (And of course, they will be as light as a dime).

What do you think about all these future workout products? Do you have anything that you would like to invent?
