Midnight Snacks: Do You Indulge?
Many people reach for a piece of chocolate or some ice cream when they get that midnight snack craving. However, it's well-known that consistantly eating junk food before bed can lead to weight gain. When you get a midnight craving, what do you reach for? Pick a letter and comment below!
a) Something healthy - no reason to break my diet!
b) I indulge a little - something small and sweet.
c) Midnight snacks are for the weak! I never give in to this temptation.
d) It depends - sometimes I give in, sometimes I fight it, sometimes I eat junk, sometimes I eat healthily.

B -- what can i say? i'm in college. :P
A I keep small healthy snacks just for this. :P I gained thirty pounds two years ago eating super fattening stuff at night and now that I've finally lost that (And then some) I'm not going to let myself fall back into that sort of cycle.

I used to always eat at night.. when i say always i meant like EVERY SINGLE NIGHT! cake, cookies, cheese and sometimes even a full meal. it became a habit but i have always hated how it made me feel in the morning... bloated and gross. now i don't do this to myself anymore. i try my best to fight it when i am craving for something at night. i do sometimes still give in though.. but i try to eat something small that won't make me feel bloated.
To quote Liz Lemmon..."Workin' on my night cheese!"
B, although lately I haven't.
D. I'm a terrible night eater, but I fight it as much as I can.
Whatever I got so I guess all of the above? LOL If it's late though, I try not to eat something too heavy or I'll just have milk or something.
At the risk of sounding stupid, I'll ask this question: WHY is it "bad" to eat at "certain times" of the day? I get that its not good to eat right before going to bed for many reasons but people make it seem bad if you eat after midnight or dont have a snack at X time. You eat when you're hungry & if you eat more than that, you're overeating. They confuse me! Personally I cant eat directly before laying down because I have bouts of silent reflux & the stomach acid backs up into my throat & basically burns my larynx. It's not fun sounding like I'm sick all the time (& some mean person said I sound like I snort coke!! WTF?!).
Umm, I just eat whatever is in my fridge, which is usually some toast, pretzels, or leftovers from dinner. Or I'll eat some crackers. I'm so boring. xD
e) sometimes i just dont eat at all :X
B) I'll have like one spoon-full of icecream, or a bite of something, but nothing more.
C - mostly depends on my mood
d man. I cook up noodles, fried rice, maybe a whole dinner (version 2.0) then I finish it off with some fruit
I dont midnight snack.
I don't ever eat junk food at midnight... but i do eat good food, and putting on weight is not an issue for high metabolism types

its hard going thru exam week...cos i'm constantly snacking but midnight when all's asleep does tend to be the worse
D.
Snakes HELL!! I have my supper in the middle of the night most the time.
C- i never eat midnight snacks. i prefer to go to bed hungry than full, i feel sick with a lot of food in my stomach. it's my general rule not to eat after 7:30 (i go to bed by 10:30 most nights).
C- I don't eat anything after 8pm.
The only time I crave at night is after I've been to the gym in the evening, and then I try to have something healthy, like half a bagel and part of an apple.
So I guess between a) and c.)
B for me. If you deny yourself, you'll be hungry and cranky; if you give in to an extreme, you'll gain weight.
im D.
:(
C -- I can't eat anything within 3 hours of going to sleep. I can't have anything interfering with the conversion/ transport of L-Tryptophan > 5HTP for HGH/ IGF production in the hours after I fall asleep.
nothing. because i'm too lazy to walk to my kitchen and there's nothing small to eat at home most of the time. :(
I'm a RA so when I do midnight rounds, I'm super hungry afterwards but I never give into the temptation no matter how hungry I am. I just tell myself to wait until morning.
