Is Indo-Rowing the New Spin Class?
When I belonged to the gym, I would occasionally break from my normal elliptical/treadmill routine and try out a rowing machine. I always found it to be a good workout, but it was also, to be honest, kind of boring. It didn’t give me the same rush that running did and I don’t think I was the only person that felt this way. While there were always lines for the other cardio machines, the rowers would just sit there, dormant. That might be about to change thanks to a fun new fitness craze called Indo-Rowing.
Indo-Rowing is sort of like spin class, but with row machines. High-energy instructors lead the class in exercises that get the individual rowers working as partners or teams. Rowers complete intervals and also race against other teams. A 50-minute Indo-Row class can help you burn 400-600 calories and the classes are supposed to be a lot of fun.

who needs a class?
I would totally try it. The seats on the bikes in spin class hurt my butt bones.
rowing is so good for you. i was on a dragon boat team for a bit and thinking back i was probably the healthiest then. you can imagine rowing was the main exercise.
Sounds like fun! I do spin classes right now and I LOVE the high energy! So this sounds like it would be a great alternative. Thanks for the heads-up! :]
To be honest, I've taken a couple classes but not a spin class before. Personally, I like to work out on my own. I've rediscovered the rowing machine only recently and I love it! True, it is can be pretty bland, but you definitely feel it working your entire body.
I used to be on the crew team and we would use ergometers like those to train and they were probably the best workout I've ever had. It's a full body workout rather than targeting certain muscle groups one by one.
As a former elite rower I would love to see this class become popular, but only if the instructors are qualified and teach people how to row correctly. I cringe every time I see someone in the erg (concept2, indoor rowing machine) doing it incorrectly.
