Last year, my boyfriend thoughtfully gave me one of those armband iPod holders because he knows that I always run and exercise with my iPod in hand. I was so excited to try it out and have my hands free during a run for the first time in years. Unfortunately, I really didn't like it. The band felt awkward clinging to my arm and I had a really hard time skipping or changing songs. I gave up on the whole iPod case idea and went back to running with my nano in my hand, but I think that there is new hope for me.
The iStick iPod case is a new approach to exercising with your iPod.
Their motto is "Put your music where you want it," and they mean it. The iStick is a small, clear plastic case that uses a system of incredibly strong magnets, which allows you to stick your iPod to your shirt, pants, jacket or pretty much anywhere. You get to keep your hands free, but still have enough access to your iPod to change the music to keep you motivated to continue with your workout!
I was a little skeptical, but after reading
this review over at NYTimes, I'm interested in trying out the iStick.
Do you workout with your iPod? What is the best product you have found to make listening to music compatible with exercising?

Sounds like an amazing idea! i love it! I also really didn't like the armband which as well as being uncomfortable felt stiky after whille of running...xx
looks awesome! i'd buy it.
But I thought having strong magnets near electronics can tamper with it somehow. Or am I totally off base here?
I just stick my ipod in my bra.
Sweet. I would definitely try it.
Please remove the apostrophe from the title.
@Super___Connected@xanga - LOL
Id try it :), i hate the arm strap thing
I put my ipod in my pocket, but so the cord is under my t-shirt.
It works fine for me.
Or, I just stick it in my bra.
I use my iPod Shuffle and not my regular iPod when I go out running, so I don't need to have a holder. It clips on. The iStick is a neat idea, though, and I'd use it if I got one as a gift.
wow thats a really good idea but I wonder how how well it really holds.
oo that's awesome, I have the one you strap on your arm right now. that one sounds a lot handier though. I agree, it's hard to change songs it can be annoying. I made a workout playlist so that I didn't have to change songs lol. Still, kind of inefficient.
@tigerdauphin@xanga - I think you're right. If I recall, most hard drives (even the mini ones in ipods) are susceptible to magnetic fields corrupting data. The only way this would work is if the ipod has some sort of shielding....which it very well may have. *shrug*
Oo, I Want One Of Those iStick Things :o
Ooooo Sounds interesting.
i don't really mind the arm straps
I have the arm strap :P
Wow. Neat, but would the strength of the magnets have an impact on the iPod's ability to function or no? I would hope not.
@tigerdauphin@xanga - No, you're right on target, but they developed this product specially to prevent interference. The article does recommend that you don't get the magnets near your bank card though because it can mess up  the encoding.Â
@lindsaya - ooh in that case! I might just get myself one. LOL although technically I don't need it - but it's the wants that are much stronger than the needs.
is there a video for it?
@breaking_expectations@xanga - haha i do that too. :D
