What's YOUR "Fitness" Mantra(s)?
I personally like “No pain, No gain” and Nike’s “Just do it.” What are yours? Do you have a "fitness" mantra(s) that helps you get through your workouts?

I tell myself, "You'll feel better once you're done."
my coach likes "run like hell " or "run like an animal"
I prefer,
"running...b/c there's more to life than being really, really, ridiculously good looking"
"some people don't have the guts for distance racing, the polite term for them is sprinters"
"Champions do not become champions when they win the event, but in the hours, weeks, months, and years they spend preparing for it. The victorious performance itself is merely the demonstration of their championship character"
i count and tell myself that in the end i'll be better for this
"Just Do It" is pretty much mine!
"Faster, harder, stronger"
My debate leader at camp used this a lot. I think it applies to anything and everything.
"Yamato Damashii -- Live as a Man, Die as a Man, become a Man." - Old Japanese Bushido Proverb.
"He today that sheds his blood with me, shall be my brother." - Henry V, St. Crispin's Day speech prior to the Battle of Agincourt 1415. I have a shirt splattered with blood that says this. This is a mantra between fighters.
"The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't how hard you hit; it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done." -- This is what I tell myself when I'm down.
"Life is Pain. Life is Suffering. Let it fuel you. Let it drive you." -- Me. Just what I repeat to myself.
@JoeytheGenie@xanga - "Champions do not become champions when they win the event, but in the hours, weeks, months, and years they spend preparing for it. The victorious performance itself is merely the demonstration of their championship character."
Wow, I like this one.
I'm too busy making sure I don't pop something to come up with a mantra. Exercise is tough when your knees hate you. :(
i like my friend's phrase "go big or go home" :)
"Don't give up what you want the most for what you want at the moment."
i always get lazy and think about making some lame excuse for NOT working out RIGHT before i head out the door...but i just shut my mouth. so i think mine is, "don't say it out loud"...it as in my excuse. and then i just go ahead with my workout.
@laurenmaureen@xanga - lol +1. "go big or go home" is a sick line haha
"Do you want to be a champion ping pong player or a champion wrestler?"
My coach said that to me today XD!
@laurenmaureen@xanga - i love that one!! i say it all the time.
nut up or shut up! Lol I don't actually use that but its funny.
@junkie_confessional@xanga - haha, I love that movie, Zombieland was great!! thats a good one, now when I'm working out I will think of that movie and just laugh!!
I constantly say, "WHOO!" before big lifts hahaha Or blow air out of my mouth profusely :D Gets me pumped and gets me into a good breathing rhythm.
sayings depress me.
i just try to distract myself as much as possible.
"just one more block"
(:
Never go to sleep without kicking some ass.
"It'll be worth it in the end."
"You're doing this to be healthy; not to lose weight. Focus on the healthy."
and
"Suck it up, Rodgers, and get back to the top of the hill." (An inside joke from my fam.)
Mine is "What doesn't kill you will make you stronger." It was from when I was training for a marathon (walking, not running).
mine is : its all for him and push it. that is when glee's version of push it runs in my mind. then i start laughing really loud in the gym and everyone thinks i'm crazy. ha
i just think about all the times ive felt insecure about my body like, embarrasingly, in public.
and also, 'just get it over with' and 'you'll feel better once you're done'
but i like your two as well.
