Healthy Tip Of The Day!
Have throat pain? Gargle!
“Mix a quarter teaspoon of sea salt with 8 ounces of warm water and gargle for two or three minutes two to three times a day”. Not only will it help reduce your throat pain, but it’s also rids your mouth of bacteria (Source from Natural Health Magazine).
Have you tried this technique before? Do you know of any other ways that have worked for you, or you have heard about?

Gargle a mixture of honey and lemon. Haha, worked for me when I got carried away with my boyfriend. =]
I've heard about it. My brother gets ulcers in his mouth every so often and he does this to help get rid of them.
salt water does help, but I prefer honey and lemon in tea to gargling salt water. Honey coats the throat and makes it feel better!
Salt water also helps to clear out your nose if it's congested, I think.
my momma always told me to do this.
my school nurse used to make me do that in elementary school when my throat hurt.
it was wretched. it made me gag so bad.
so i'm glad she switched it up one year and had me use this cinnamon-y tasting stuff.
my mom used to have us do that all the time. It tastes dreadful. If it didn't benefit, you'd lie and say it did just so you didn't have to do it again.
It works!!!! Do it at least 3 times during the day. Sometimes the simple things are the most effective.
It's an old remedy. Been doing that for as long as I could remember.
This is my mom's remedy for almost anything wrong with the mouth/throat.
I don't think it tastes bad. It's just salt!
Works so well!!
Even helped when I experienced throat pain associated with a cold sore...
I've done this since I was little!
Don't know if it works, but I gargle a lot during cold and flu outbreaks and don't get sick much. It certainly doesn't hurt.
Hmm, I'm pretty sure I heard it somewhere, but forgot about it.
Whenever I have a sore throat I take plenty of echinachae and goldenseal and that usually helps the throat pain.
i've been doing this for years :)
@Reckless@mancouch - Same! :]
it definitely works
I've heard this before. one of my friends does it and he got my boyfriend to start doing it. I'll probably try it next time my throat hurts! :D
