Healthy teeth and gums are very important to a healthy lifestyle as they help us with daily tasks. Regular teeth cleaning will prevent a lot of dental problems and medical problems such as cavities, gingivitis, bad breath, gum disease, infection, bone loss, heart disease, diabetes, certain cancers, strokes and more.
A study has found that if two specific bacteria are found in the mouth there is a greater chance of a heart attack.
One bacterium increased the chance of a heart attack by 50% and the other by 35%.
Previous studies have discovered that inflammation caused by gum disease can affect blood vessels and cause furring of the ateries in a similar way to cholesterol. According to researchers have found evidence that the amount of bacteria in the mouth, may contribute to an individual’s risk of a heart attack.
There can be around 700 different bacteria in our mouths and gum disease has been linked to diabetes, strokes and pregnancy problems as well as heart disease, so it is vital to look after oral hygiene.
Anywhere to avoid heart disease and other medical problems, you need maintaining good oral health routine should include twice daily brushing with fluoride toothpaste, cutting down how often you have sugary foods and drinks and visiting the dentist regularly, as often as the dentist recommends. Cleaning between the teeth is also important and should be done once-a-day using floss or interdental brushes.
