Vegetarian on Thanksgiving? Try this Gravy Recipe!
    source

Many of my friends are vegetarians, and so when Thanksgiving rolls around, they always find themselves in a pickle. Aside from their Tofurkey, they've always experienced issues when trying to figure out how to get out of using meat or meat-based products when it comes to dinner.

Well fret no more, vegetarians! Here is a vegetarian recipe for a delicious "turkey" gravy, courtesy of AllRecipes.com.

    Ingredients:

    • 1 teaspoon yeast extract spread, e.g. Marmite/Vegemite
    • 1 teaspoon onion powder
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1 1/2 cups hot water
    • 4 tablespoons butter
    • 1/2 cup cold water
    • 2 tablespoons cornstarch

    Cooking Instructions:

    1. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in yeast extract spread, onion powder, and salt until smooth.
    2. Gradually whisk in 1 1/2 cups water so no lumps form. Bring to a boil.
    3. In a small cup, stir together 1/2 cup cold water and cornstarch. Stir the cornstarch mixture into the saucepan, and continue boiling until thickened.
    4. Cool slightly before serving.
