The Worst Winter Fast Food Items!
Even though that new holiday-flavor Starbucks mochachinolattefrappacino looks delicious, you should probably only indulge once when it comes to these new holiday "fast food" treats.
Thanks to AOL Health, here is a list of the unhealthiest seasonal delights!
- Boston Market's Pastry Top Chicken Pot Pie. While it may be belly-warming and tasty, this dinner can pack 800 calories, 48 grams of fat and 1,090 milligrams of sodium - which is all of your alloted fat for the day! Unbelievably delicious, but disgustingly unhealthy.
- A grande Cosi's Eggnog Latte. This may be a fun Christmas-themed drink, but leave it as a treat just for the holiday. This hot beverage contains 527 calories, 26 grams of fat and 294 milligrams of sodium! If you're looking to avoid weight gain this winter, make sure to steer clear of this!
- Dairy Queen's Pumpkin Pie Blizzard (medium). Thankfully this Blizzard won't be around through December, because it packs 780 calories, 28 grams of fat and 450 milligrams of sodium! If you're craving that pumpkin taste, try roasting some seeds in the oven after sprinkling them with salt - same great taste with significantly less fat!
- A large Harvest Pumpkin Soup from Au Bon Pain. While the calorie content is not alarming (clocking in at 320), and though it only has 17 grams of fat, the sodium count is astronomical! With 1,720 milligrams of sodium, you're consuming over half of your daily alloted sodium count in this one bowl.
- Starbucks' Hazelnut Hot Chocolate with Whipped Cream and Whole Milk. Even though you can save a few calories and grams of fat by skipping the whipped cream and asking for fat free milk instead of whole, you're still going to come close to 600 calories, 32 grams of fat and 140 milligrams of salt. This may not be the worst treat on the list, but it's definitely something that should still be limited to a once-in-a-while indulgence.
- Au Bon Pain's Gingerbread Man Cookie. Who can resist the sweet taste of gingerbread during the holidays? Well, at 320 calories, 10 grams of fat and 150 milligrams of sodium, you better learn! Although this cookie doesn't come off as something completely unhealthy, think of the size of it - he's smaller than a glass of water and is almost the equivalent of three shots of alcohol in weight! He may be sweet, but try not to love him too often.
- Panera Bread's Cinnamon Crunch Bagel (with two ounces of cream cheese). With 610 calories, 16 grams of fat and 640 milligrams of sodium, this bagel will certainly satisfy any sweet tooth in the morning, but with a hefty price. If you're looking from something sweet as cinnamon, try putting a cinnamon stick in your hot chocolate, or eat some apple-cinnamon oatmeal.
What other "fast food" treats do you look forward to during the holiday season? Which ones will you have the hardest time staying away from?

Apparently, I have some fast food places I should be hitting up this holiday season. :D
Oh darn, I love Panera's cinnamon crunch bagels. But I also don't eat them with cream cheese.
That's the only one I've ever eaten though.
i don't like holiday flavored food like cinnamon or christmas spice.
Good thing the only coffee I get from Starbucks is an Americano.
I saw the Pumpkin Pie Blizzard at DQ last night. The thought of it kind of grossed me out.
=]
Haha, this only makes me want to try all the stuff mentioned!
i had the pumpkin pie blizzard last year and it was yummy.. i think they just put out a new one, the candy cane blizzard.
hot chocolate is going to be hard to stay away from
Reading the number of sodium in the pumpkin soup actually made me sick!
i got panera's dutch apple bagel thinking it wouldn't be as sweet as the cinnamon crunch or french toast and might actually have fruit but no....BLECH! it was sweeter then some cookies i've had! >_<
Just so you know, more than likely you can get the Hazelnut hot chocolate from Starbucks with sugar free hazelnut syrup - which should knock close to 100 calories off it. But yeah, this is why they're holiday indulgences, and not something offered everyday.

am I making pumpkin seeds wrong? Mine taste like old popcorn...
I am in love with the new Caramel Brulee latte at Starbucks. :o) I know it's probably awful for you even if you get it with skim, minus whip. It's sooooooo good and wonderful!
@BebstersBlog2@xanga - haha same reaction. and i also don't eat it with cream cheese.
toasted, unsliced. it's just way too good!
Good thing I don't eat any of this crap to begin with!
hazelnut hot chocolate sounds yummy...
I prefer raspberry hot chocolate myself...
I've never had Au Bon Pain's Harvest Pumpkin soup, but it sounds delicious! I don't have a problem with my blood pressure, so I don't see how once in a while this would be too terrible to have too much sodium. It's not like I eat there every day. I don't even know where there is one around where I live...
Gross.
Wow.... all those calories no wonder the average person gains 10 lbs in november and december
Well, for the first one, it's incorrect if you're following the 2000 calorie diet. The allotted amount of fat is 65 grams. The amount the chicken pot pie has is alot, but not everything you should have in a day. Also, roasted pumpkin seeds with salt, although a ton more healthier than anything on this list, don't taste even close to as good as pumpkin pie blizzard! That's a joke.
1. no one gets whole milk
2. our default is 2%3. thats NOT EVEN A HOLIDAY BEVERAGE AT SBUXdo ur research, i work there.
I don't have to worry because I hate all those places with the exception of Panera's.
wow now i am hungry :p
I have a buy one get one free for the blizzard candy cane thing....yum
Also, pumpkin seeds do not come close to the taste of pumpkin pie ice cream.
Those Starbucks drinks probably aren't anything much special, an extra dash of cinnamon! hah~ yet we still buy them T____T
Looks like I'm safe since I'm not near any of those places. I will have to be careful of the DD peppermint mocha latte, haven't tried it yet but it looks like it could be addicting, lol. Oh the eggnog milkshake from McDonalds is too good too, though so far this year I've been able to stay away from it.
I think its smart to completely avoid fast food places. I'd like to boycott fastfood commercials sometime. They take up so much of the air and give you 'good deals' on heart attacks. No thanks plus more money in your pocket for presents.
