Adult Gummy Multivitamins...Are They Just Too Good To Be True?
Last night after dinner, I realized I ran out of my multivitamins for this morning, so I stopped by CVS to get another bottle. I don’t really have a certain brand that I always go for, but I usually prefer chewable ones with “tasty and fruity” flavors over just regular ones in pill-form.
As I was searching for other brands hoping to find some new chewable ones, these “Gummy Multivitamins for adults” caught my eye. There were several different brands, but they all had the same idea. They all came in delicious-looking fruit flavors (like lemon, berry, orange, and so on) and they looked just like gummy bears, except the shapes were different and they were much healthier.
I picked out “Multi Vites” from Vitafusion, which came in lemon, orange, and berry flavors. As soon as I got home, I opened the bottle and took 2 gummy vitamins. Oh wow. They were just too good to be called multi vitamins! Moreover, they were only 15 calories per serving with just 4 grams of sugar. I was actually really tempted to take 2 more of them, but had to stop myself from overdosing.
As I was enjoying my new multi vitamins, I started to wonder if these were as effective and healthy as other regular vitamins (like the ones that REALLY look like vitamins), or if these are more geared towards taste…
Have you ever tried “gummy multi vitamins for adults” before? Do you think they are as effective as regular ones, or do you prefer to stick to the regular ones?

Besides the flavor and the sugar, what exactly about them would make them more or less potent than any other run of the mill vitamin? Nothing.
i have those vitamins!! theyre sooooo goood i always feel like i wanna OD on their deliciousness.
i hope theyre good as multivitamins cuz i need them as much as possible >_<
i think it's an awesome idea, but i've yet to find an adult or kids gummy vitamin that has any iron in it which I know is one mineral i really need, so until i find one i'm stuck taking boring pill form ones...although i may look into some of the chewable ones...for now i just take my boring one followed by a hershey kiss :) ....as Julie Andrews taught us, "a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down" lol
so I've been taking centrum multivitamins for the longest time... then i bought kids gummy vitamins and planned on starting on them when i finish this bottle of centrum. it's taking tooooo long and i wana throw it out and open the gummies already!
hahaha, i use have these exact same ones. I don't know if they're doing anything though
They recommend 2 a day but I always end up finishing like half a jar.
Yes, the family I nanny for has gummy vitamins for kids..I eat them anyway, they're so good! I always have like 5 or 6 of them in a day XD
dude i totally tried to get my mom to buy these for me.
i hear that the gummy, chewable, and liquid vitamins are actually more easily absorbed. so you get more of the vitamins than you would in pill form i guess.
I buy the chewable vitamin c tablets and chewable tums for calcium
these new multi-vitamin gummy candies are wonderful
they should make them in a wider variety of cute shapes/flavors like kiwi strawberry dinosaurs:)
@tinydancer315@xanga -My friend needs Iron, and her doctor told her to take Flinstone vitamins. I'm not sure how much you need/how much there is but just thought I'd share with you : )
they probably have gelatin in them, or i'd take them.
I don't take any multivitamins currently, but maybe I'll start since they have chewable ones for adults now!
just make sure your kids can't find them...
uhh... I just take a centrum women's multivitamin. i guess i can handle grown-up nonchewable kinds. i used to swallow huge "horse-pills" when i had anxiety/stomach problems as a child. so chewable isn't necessary and i dont need a vitamin to "taste good" for me to take it.
@cheatingiseating512@xanga - thanks, I will look into those, i don't think i need a lot, i was anemic many years ago and had to take iron supplements, but now i just try to make sure i take a multi-vitamin w/some iron in it.
I was looking into those (or a similar brand), but I didn't buy them because they didn't have any calcium or iron, which I suppose would be hard to get into a gummy form.
For me, vitamins are vitamins. If I want something tasty, I'll go for actual food. The taste of the vitamin only lasts for a few seconds anyway... I'm sure that they're more expensive than pill ones so I don't think it's really worth the extra bucks for two seconds of sweetness.
There is actually a school of thought that gummy vitamins are more effective than pill forms, because you chew them, so they digest better and get into your system faster. I take the multi ones and vitamin D3, as well.
I like these so much better. Real pill vitamins hurt my stomach a lot when I take them but I've had no problems with the gummies.
I've been taking some for about a month now, and the bottle is almost out. They don't do crap.
Get real vitamins. If you don't like taking the big disgusting horse pills, get One-A-Day Essential. They're tiny and round and coated, so they go down your throat easily. Those are the ones I'm getting.
wow if it taste like gummy bears, i won't mind eating this.
I've heard of them, but never really been able to find them where I shop. I've wanted to try them, though!!
I seriously doubt that they are any less or more potent than the regular vitamins.
They taste too good. D: I always want to eat the whole bottle, but I control myself of course.
get the gummy multivitimans, then get a separate iron supplement ;) best of both worlds
@tinydancer315@xanga -I purchased natural dynamix's calcium dx and fiber dx adult gummy vitamins a couple of months ago with much success.
