Are There any Effective Fitness DVDs?
There are a lot of "fitness DVDs" out there to make our winters workout less chill inducing or save us time or money the rest of the year. They're cheap, they're accesible to most people, they save 'travel to the gym' time and they're private - which is helpful to a lot of exercisers. They do seem to all have different ideas of what fitness is and aren't very clear about who they're aimed for. A fitness DVD may help you drop a dress size in a month but that doesn't neccessarily make it a good cardio workout so calling it a fitness DVD is a bit misleading.
Cheap, accesible, time saving workouts are great. I'd love one. But no-one wants to waste that money or time on a workout that doesn't work for them.
Are there any DVDs out there that really do help you keep fit? What are your favorite workout DVDs?

Jillian Michaels 30 day shred. Kicks your ass into shape with cardio and strength.
i love jillian michaels. she kicks your ass into shape. she's like.. don't stop or i'll kill you:]
i totally have the above bootcamp dvd. its really good if you wanna tone up every inch of you especially your lower half. all tae bo is amazing at that. Who cares about dvds. You can get pretty much any workout on Youtube.
My current favorite is Shiva Rea's Free Flow Vinyasa Yoga DVD. It's good for intermediate-advanced yogis if you can get past the "hippy-ness" of the water element parts.
I adore Jillian Michaels, but I don't like her workout DVDs. I didn't find her 30 Day Shred challenging at all after two workouts. My body adjusted -- not enough muscle confusion for me.
P90X
@theonlytimes@xanga - Exactly what I was going to say.
I live in a house, on the second floor, with people living beside me and below me. My problem with DVDs is that most of them do a lot of jumping and stuff and I don't want to bug everyone lol. Otherwise I love anything Julian Michaels!! :)
P90X worked wonders for me. I lost 4 pounds in the first 3 days of using it. Definitely intense, but easy to follow. It leaves your whole body feeling tingly at the end of each workout.
insanity
actually you know its more about eating right than it is working out right lol ...if you can't eat properly you'll never reach your goal
@theonlytimes@xanga - I just got that one myself and was going to suggest it as well because it seems like something that would def. kick your ass into shape
I really loathe workout videos, mainly because I do them at home and have so many distractions around (like the computer, chocolate :P ) I find it sooo much easier to just focus on a workout at the gym where it's just me and the machine, and I also like the fact that no one is telling me what I have to do :)
The Kim Kardashian one. I've been giving myself a heck of a workout to that!
Turbo Jam. Its a few years old, but it works. So do the Carmen Electra videos, they are so much fun.
I use 10 minute solution pilates, target toning, and carb burner. Watching the fitness channel has helped a lot too, they have yoga and all kinds of stuff.
Jillian Micheals' 30 day shred- I lost 10 pounds in a month and shaped up signifigantly
Turbo Jam
Tae Bo
Ministry of Sound- Okay, it's cheese tastic with the outfits, but the music is good and the moves are fun.
Zumba!
@shake_things_up@xanga - Yea I agree, the Insanity workout looks like it could be incredibly effective, and If the infomercial I sat through didn't get cut short (like most of them do) I probably would have ordered it. Thankfully though, I can just dust off my gym cloths and just go back there.

Jillian Michaels 30 day shred is my absolute favorite.
@sugar_mama@xanga - lol, that is so hardcore!
Tracy Anderson Mat Workout! I only do parts of it because I like to pair it with 30 minutes on the crosstrainer (or a 30 minute jog). This is all I do every second day and I've been in tip top shape while being able to eat :)
Have you heard about vibration exercise machine? its one of the latest machine being used by Diego Maradona to get shaped. Diego Maradona is a former Argentine football player and current manager of the Argentine national team. This device improves speed, quickness, increase strength, flexibility, metabolism and circulation.
I like the Slim in 6 and Hip Hop Abs.
I've heard of PX90 works...
there's one I want to try... Insanity. That one looks promising.
'Jillian michaels! 30 days shred' definitely is my favorite ones. 'Pump it' is also a pretty great exercise or 'Jackie:one-on-one'.
I know those aren't the exact titles but i think if you google them you'll find them.
I love Turbo Jam. It's fun and it really is a great workout!
