  • The Benefits of Wheatgrass

I tried my first shot of wheatgrass today and it surprisingly tasted a lot better than I had expected. It actually tasted like raw green beans, but it had a not so good aftertaste. It had a very watery consistency and was a little foamy from being juiced. My fiance and I both ordered a 1 oz. shot from a natural market, which put us back $4.50 for both. It's hard to imagine paying that much for such a small amount of liquid, but wheatgrass has an amazing list of benefits and it really makes it worth the money.

Here are just a few benefits of wheatgrass.

In just 1 ounce of wheatgrass:
    • Contains as much nutritional value as 2.5 pounds of fresh green vegetables
    • Is very high in chlorophyll which helps to build up red blood cells immediately
    • Has over 100 vitamins, minerals and amino acids.
    • Helps cleanse and purify the body

I actually want to start incorporating wheat grass into my diet regularly. It is such a simple thing to do everyday that will provide you with so many health benefits. A wheatgrass supplement is also just as beneficial, you don't necessarily have to grow your own plant in order to achieve the same results.

Have you ever tried wheatgrass? Would you consider incorporating it into your diet?
