A Good Lunch with Dessert Doesn't Have to be Fattening!
A friend of mine recently went to the doctor and found out her actual weight. After the number was revealed to her, she was not pleased (to say the least), so she asked me for advice on how she could shed the pounds. Well after she asked, I not only told her, but I showed her that having a good, healthy meal doesn't have to be such a drag.On that particular day, I brought a Lean Cuisine meal for lunch. It was a selection from their new Market Creations line. One thing I like about their new line is that the portions seem to be just a tad bit more from their normal boxed dinners. Well, for this meal I had Spicy Ginger Chicken. The entire entree alone was only 270 calories. Well I microwave it for 7 minutes and before it was done, it had the entire side of the hall smelling some kind of good.
Anyway, as I walked back to my desk, I stopped off at hers to show her what a 270 calorie meal looked like and she couldn't believe it! In addition to that, I had a 100 calorie Hostess pack for a snack. I gave her one of the 3 little treats in the pack and she couldn't believe how good it tasted. That right there motivated her to make a greater effort to shedding the pounds.
So it just goes to show you that a good meal with dessert doesn't have to be fattening and tasteless. It can actually be quite good!
What is your favorite low-fat lunch? How do you make sure that your meals aren't too fattening?

Unfortunately, what may be light on the weight is heavy on the wallet. Perhaps you could show her how home cooking can be low calorie but delicious.
Fat = Good
Sugar = BadI know it's hard for a lot of people- but take a weekend to cook up some organic free range meats, stock up on veggies, a few fruits, make your own meals to put together. I know in reality- it's just easier (and maybe more cost effective? not sure on that one) to get ready-made TV dinner type meals.. but I'd try to stay clear. I always pack our dinner leftovers for my husband for work.. so that could work too. Whole foods, fresh foods... no boxed meals. You avoid a lot of processed crap that way, and eliminate a lot of sugars.Processed foods are unhealthy, regardless of the calorie or fat content.
yeah, y'all should cook some vegetables. lean cuisine and hostesses? bleck.
