"Your Skin is Glowing!"
As I was just sitting down in my English class my friend said to me "You look tanner than normal." I am light skinned, never fake-bake, and it's the dead of winter. So I gave her a questioning look and she said "What I mean is, your skin is glowing!"
This does make sense though, because I have been using a homemade honey face mask. I kind of chuckle at the term homemade in this case, because I don't really do anything but apply it to my face and wash it off.
What I mean to say is that I just use honey. Yep, straight honey. I have the cliché bear shaped bottle of honey, and I just squeeze it out and apply it to my face. I leave it on for anywhere from 10-60 minutes.
Honey clears the blockage in the sebum glands and removes the infectious microbes, both of which would cause acne. Because the honey is "waxy," it moisturizes the skin as it cleans it.
Sounds like a good deal to me!
Have you heard of this, and have you tried it? Would you try it?

interesting.. haven't tried it, but it sounds like I should! How do you deal with the stickiness for an hr? I imagine you have to do it right before taking a shower...
i want to try it!
I heard of this but always forget to buy honey when i go out. Glad to see good reviews for it. Stock up now, honey prices are going up.
how many times a week do you do this? i want to try it!
I have, but how often should you do this? I don't think I do it often enough to get any real benefit from it.
It's funny how I have honey on my face as I type this. :P
Gonna give this a try soon.
i've definitely heard of this before, but never tried it. if it makes my face glow, i'm in.
@lovezpassion@xanga - It actually washes off quite easily. I make sure my hair is pulled back, with a headband, and usually I use it before a shower. It is kind of hard not touching my face while it's on, though.
@zzzzzulavalle@xanga - @direwolf005@xanga - I've been doing it just about every week, but that's just because I just started doing it. I think I might switch it to once or twice a week.
Honey is good for acne and kills some bacteria as well as help the skin feel smooth and wrinkle-free because of its anti-oxidant-properties. I mix it with natural yoghurt because I don't like that sticky feeling. Plus yoghurt contains lactic acid, which helps gently exfoliating the skin and tighten the pores since I have sensitive skin and can't endure salicylic acid.
I HAVE to try this!
I am totally trying this in the morning!
Trying it as I type this.
can i try this while i'm on medication? i mean i'm having anti biotic pills for my acne. and a few types of acne cream given by my dermatologist.
I tried a honey and oatmeal mix once (gives the added exfoliation factor) but i could barely handle the smell of the honey.
I used to do this when I was younger and had bad skin. I would seriously see results overnight! I also mixed dry oatmeal in with the honey. The oatmeal is very soothing for the skin and pretty gentle. Just add enough to make a paste, swipe it on, leave it for anywhere between 10-20 minutes and you're good to go! Everyone's skin has different needs, but once a week did the trick for me!
Ohh...HOT DAMN! I will definitely try this. Very excited. Thanks for posting this. :)
Hey it also sounds pretty cheap lol.. Ima have ta give this a try :) Thank you!
i have tried this with hot bath. pretty good :)
To you apply it to your entire face, or just certain areas like blemished spots, t-zone...etc?
i've read a recipe where you mix half a banana with 2-3 tsp of honey and leave it for about 10-15 minutes.it's GREAT.the skin becomes really smooth and it feels so clean!it was the day i decided i'd never put ANYTHING with chemicals on me ever again. nature is wise,we don't need that shit.
I've heard of using honey as an ingredient for facial masks, but I never really thought about using honeoy all on it's own. I'm definitely going to try this!
I've heard honey is a miracle for lots of things. My skin is so light and you can see all my imperfections. I need to try honey.
I've heard of this. My coworker uses it, and she has beautiful tan clear skin. I've been interested in it, but didn't know if it was truly safe. I have really sensitive skin, so maybe I will try it. But how do you keep the honey from sliding off your face?
I've tried it.. makes my skin soft, haven't noticed "glowing" though.
