Does This "As Seen On TV" Product Actually Work?
Like any good consumer, I'm doing my research before buying a product.
I'm not looking to buy a car or a TV or a computer, but rather one of those infomercial products. But before I spend the money, I'm asking you, my Healthkicker friends, whether or not you think a certain product works.
I've read some reviews online, and based off of those I would make a rash decision to buy the Belly Burner. But, I want to know if any of you guys have ever used it or know someone who's had successful results after using the tummy toner.
It claims to heat your core during any form of exercise whether it be at the gym or just running errands, and that it burns fat by doing so, but should I believe it?
But if it does work, do they have a Thigh Burner?!
Have you used the Belly Burner? Do you think it works? Would you ever try any "As Seen on TV" exercise equipment?

I haven't tried that one yet, but I have a few "As seen on TV" fitness product and they do work like the abs roller and the shake weight.
Haven't tried and I don't think I would.
If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is... I wouldn't try it.
'Heat your core?' You mean it makes your belly hot? Well, no shit, you wrapped some extra material around it. Try an Ace bandage and a heating pad. Actually, just the bandage might be enough. o.O
@TequilaKisses@xanga - The Shake Weight just looks ...dirty.
I can't think of any physical reason why this product would work. I certainly don't believe it will build muscle, as the website suggests.
@Grtt@xanga - Maybe that's why I bought it? ;)
Nah. It was a gift. I was skeptical at first regarding how phallic it looks and how stupid it makes me look, but it does work. Who gives that rough of a handjob anyway?
I doubt anything that claims will make you lose weight without doing anything, actually works anyway. More like an advertisement scam.
I think they are trying to get people to believe that it'll sweat the fat out and make your stomach slimmer, but the toned chiseled abs thing is deceptive.
@NewBody_NewSoul@xanga - agreed
i don't know what it claims, but normally, items like this make you lose water weight. meaning if you were exercising with the thing; 1, it gets in the way of your mobility and 2, you best be drinking alot of water because you will lose fluids.
i think it's similar concept to hot yoga except it's only on one area of your body instead of a super heated room.
I'm guessing that it doesn't work. Spend your money on an ab roller if you want strong abs. Or some workout dvds... or a book showing ab exercises. You get the idea.
makes you sweat. i have one, and it is gross how sweaty it makes you
i wear it when i work outi dont think it really makes a difference but the sweat makes me feel like it works hhaa
saw this on some consumer report news thingy, they said it claims to raise your core temperature but it only raises your skin surface temperature (for obvious reasons). i never bought their schtick, so the news story didn't surprise me.
I got one of those a long time ago. Say like...7 or 8 years ago? The only thing it does is heat your stomach. :] Don't waste your time or your money.
I don't think it works. I mean, I'm not exactly the picture of health myself, so don't take my word for it. But I have heard several times that it's impossible to target fat loss; you just burn it off everywhere equally when you work out. The only way targeting specific areas will pay off is if you're looking to tone muscle, which is great, but this product definitely won't do that for you.
I doubt it would work. If you want flat abs you need to lose body fat, those things do not get rid of fat. If you want bulky abs then you need to do resistance work outs.
No, no they don't. Have a nice daaaayyyyy!!!! <3
Also, parts are always missing!
There are a lot of products that I would really like to try but not work-out stuff...
Remember those weird tummy belts that would just shake you back and forth? This made me think of that.
From a metabolic standpoint, something that keeps you ice cold would be more likely to help you burn calories than something that warms a particular area. If you're cold, your body has to burn energy to stabilize your temp. Just a thought.
I've herd it works... I also herd about it causing heart attacks... That was like back in 03
