5 Random Foods That Help Keep You Looking & Feeling Healthy
Now that summer's here, we're shedding our winter layers and showing off what's been underneath those sweaters and pants all winter. But you don't need to spend tons of money on a new wardrobe or some fancy product to look and be healthy this summer.
Everything you need is right in your kitchen!
Problem: Bad Breath
Kitchen Cure: Parsley or Mint. Forget the Scope. When brushing your teeth, don't forget to do a few swipes on your tongue. If you don't have a toothbrush handy, make sure you're keeping hydrated by drinking a lot of water and if you can stand it, studies show chewing "on a few sprigs of parsley or mint...freshen breath instantly."

Problem: Puffy Eyes
Kitchen Cure: Green Tea. Drinking it is good for you, but if you have puffy eyes, these tea bags can be a big help because they'll help constrict blood vessels. After letting the tea bags soak in water, put them in the freezer and once they've chilled for a little, put them on your eyes which will help bring down the swelling around your eyes.

Problem: Sore Throat
Kitchen Cure: Honey. Externally, some people spread honey on their face because the sticky stuff is great at moisturizing. If it's a cough or cold causing the problem, honey will help you internally by getting a sore throat get back to normal by soothing the throat.

Problem: Yellow Nails
Kitchen Cure: Lemon Juice. This juice has whitening properties in it, so if you soak your nails in the fresh-squeezed juice, it can help fade the yellowish tint your nails may have turned thanks to all of the fun colored nail polishes you've worn (they sometimes stain the nail), smoking or even contact with certain foods.

Problem: Rosacea
Kitchen Cure: Yogurt. If you have this skin-reddening condition, just apply some plain yogurt on your face as you would with any other kind of facial mask. After about 15 minutes, the yogurt will soften your skin and bring down some of the redness.

if you have a slight headache, vanilla extracts help lessen the pain, and can even get rid of it.
good tips !
I need lemon juice cure for my nails..
I called Improper Use of the Word Random.
What about yellow teeth?
I may try the lemon juice soon. It's a bad habit that I'm constantly doing my nails, but it's a hobby... :/
And I've tried the honey, and I don't remember it working. Maybe it was just me, though. I had the sore throat because I stayed at my friend's house and her Central Air kicked up so much all night, and I wasn't used to breathing in the air.
Also, this isn't really a food lol, but if you get nosebleeds and you have flat radiators, take a pan of water (lukewarm, cold, whatever) and place it on it. Moistens the air. It's like a ghetto humidifier, but it's way cheap and does the same thing
@ohforrealson@xanga - i just tried it last week and it didn't work so much, maybe my nails are tooo yellow, i filed it first and then soak and still didn't completely get rid of it
ive heard about people soaking their nails in dental tablets.@crashthedr3am@xanga - toothpaste dipped in baking soda.=D

hmm...I'm going to try the rosacea one since i never heard of using yogurt (my face is always red, so I always use make-up to cover it up).
I'm going to have to purchase about a ton more of green tea bags now.
@katethoughts@xanga - What kind of dental tablets?
@ohforrealson@xanga - i've seen people on youtube dropping efferdent? denture cleaner tablets in a bowl of water and they fizz. they soak their nails in a bowl for 10+ minutes. i have no idea how much these things costs, but it sounds like it should be more affordable then nail whitening fizzing solutions bought in beauty supply stores
@SuburbanSweetheart@lovelyish - I dunno... parsley is pretty random. Especially to cure bad breath.
