  • 3 Great 50-Calorie Summer Treats!

Summer is all about looking good and staying cool. What better way to beat the heat than some tasty, low-cal, cool-off snacks? Here are some of my total favorites that try to incorporate fruit and foods that would otherwise be considered an indulgence.

    1. 1/2 cup of frozen blueberries (40 calories). Blueberries help fight fat, are packed with antioxidants and are so good in the summer! Just make sure you're washing them thoroughly to wash off the pesticides. Pop them in the freezer the night before and you have an awesome mid-morning (or anytime!) snack.

    2. 1 Budweiser Select 55 beer (55 calories). Alcohol is such an indulgence that it's often the key to losing weight for dieters. But, when you're at that barbecue and water just won't cut it, trying bringing along a 6-pack of Bud Selects. You'll look like a courteous guest and all the other dieters in the room will love you! Just make sure you get a pack that isn't past its expiration date -- such a light beer can taste really watery if it sits too long.

    3. Ice pops (5-40 calories). Nothing says summer like an ice pop. In my house we use Crystal Light lemonade to make our own super low-cal treats, but if you want to go on the healthy and fresh route (nothing is better than getting some extra fiber in your snack!), try this delicious looking recipe for wild berry pops. They look awesome...and if you don't have time to freeze, just turn it into an on-the-go smoothie! Or, head for a red-white-and-blue firecracker, which only has 40 calories and takes forever to eat!

What are your favorite 50 calorie summer treats?
