  • Blackheads... On My Legs

If beach season is in its prime so too should be my legs! I'm not talking about toning them, I'm referring to exfoliating them and getting rid of one of the most embarrassing features I have on my legs... blackheads.

I exfoliate my face a few times a week, hence why I have few to no blackheads, but I tend to not exfoliate my legs. I have extremely sensitive skin especially on my legs, so I've recently started exfoliating the skin very lightly and it's actually helped reduce the blackheads on my upper thighs.

I just wish there were some type of giant blackhead removal strips for legs, but since there aren't any yet, I did some research and discovered some great ways to get rid of those pesty blackheads, thanks to LIVESTRONG.

    • Applying gels high in aloe vera on your legs is a great way to kill the bacteria that builds up on blackheads.
    • Steam flushes out any dirt and oils that build up in the blackhead itself. Therefore try showering in hot water (be careful though, not too hot!) or let the hot water run in your bathroom and sit for a few minutes till the skin softens and the blackheads are easy to remove.
    • Also, exfoliate! It'll get rid of all the dry skin that makes blackheads tough to remove. Try using soap for sensitive skin though.

The last two effective steps are to see an aesthetician, who can safely remove any blackheads and prevent scarring or visit your dermatologist who can prescribe proper medication to rid them.

A personal recommendation is applying Tend Skin over the blackhead. Although it's a product to remove ingrown hairs, it also helps with my blackheads.

Do you have any recommendations on how to get rid of blackheads on your legs? Any other places were you get blackheads besides your face and legs?

Wow! I have never gotten blackheads on my legs. Im sorry. :/

My issue with my legs is that Im the type that even after I just shave my legs, you can see little back marks from where the hairs are supposed to grow out. And when I wax I end up with a whole bunch of ingrown hairs, even when I exfoliate.

Oh my God.  If that happened to me I wouldn't be able to stop touching and squeezing at them.  I get most of my blackheads on my nose, but even that's rare.  My main issue is under the skin zits, the really painful, throbbing red ones :/

Also, once in a blue moon I'll get one on my shoulders.
