Tips on Quitting Dip
My boyfriend has dipped or chewed since he was 12, so it's been about 9 years since he started. I've never asked him to quit even though I hate the habit because I knew that I couldn't force him to do something he didn't want to do himself.
He tried to quit about 4 months ago when we started dating, but the stress of the jerks he worked for/with for 12+hrs a day, 7 days a week just got to him. Not to mention they hired more summer staff who were big into chewing as well so he had peer pressure on top of everything else. Now he wants to quit again and I think he serious this time. His life has gone down the crapper and for the first time he's realizing just how much money he spends a week buying cans of dip. Plus he's in a healthier work environment and no one he works with chewsThe problem we've run into is that he needs some sort of alternative to help him get through the day. He doesn't like the chew substitutes at all. Last time he became really fond of cough drops, but I'm sure in the long run using those on a daily basis isn't much healthier.Does anyone have any tips on quitting or what he can use as an alternative?

As with smoking, the habit is harder to break than the chemical addiction. Good luck!
I had no idea what that was until now haha. We don't get these things in New Zealand. Good luck!
