Lethal Injection: The Story of Vaccines
Alright, I know this is a touchy subject for pretty much everyone, especially parents, but I strongly recommend this documentary, "Lethal Injection: The Story of Vaccines."
Shawn and I have chose not to vaccinate Gryffen for a few different reasons which I won't get into on this post, but I'm thinking of writing a detailed one for next week explaining why. Both of our families found out and let's just say no one was pleased at all (especially my grandma who's been a nurse for the past 45 years).
However, I showed her this documentary yesterday and it blew her away. She's beside herself with how betrayed she feels by our healthcare system and government.
I'm not trying to change anyone's opinion on vaccines, to each their own, BUT I really hope some of you will watch this documentary with an open mind.
Yes it's long, but so worth it!Check out the documentary here!

That's the fact, jack.
I have been on all sides of the fence... currently my research has brought me back to vaccinating.. but I will check out this docu.
Quite honestly, I think of vaccines and I think of diseases like smallpox--which was eradicated completely by vaccinations. It was a nasty vaccine, but it worked, and guess what? We're not dying of that anymore. And polio? There are diseases that are largely eradicated but not completely. When you don't vaccinate yourself from those diseases, part of the reason you don't get it is because everyone else is vaccinated from it and doesn't have it.
I mean, please correct me if I'm wrong. I'm not saying they're great, but I'm saying that that's what comes to my mind when I think of vaccines--smallpox, and how we're free of that because of vaccinations.
@FallenReign@xanga - Hygiene and sanitation are a big part of that too...around the same time smallpox were eradicated, regular hand washing and clean drinking water were starting to happen :) This documentary actually talks about it as well.
There are conspiracy theories about everything. Vaccines save lives. No way am I going to block my daughter from accessing reasonable life-saving preventative medicine. You can do whatever you want with your kid.
The only way that we're going to eradicate certain deadly diseases is if everyone gets vaccinated. I think it's irresponsible to not vaccinate your child. Not only are you not protecting YOUR child, but you are making it more likely for other children to catch diseases from your child. Some kids CAN'T get vaccines because they are allergic to them, so by not vaccinating kids that can be, we are endangering these children as well. I would advise you to speak to an MD (physicians) about this issue if you still feel strongly about it. I have a degree in biology and am currently medical school getting my MD. I have looked at this issue from what I personally consider to be an objective, purely scientific/epidemiological standpoint. Yes, I have actually read the studies and data on vaccines and links to problems that they are claimed to cause. My scientific opinion is that vaccines are generally safe and that their benefits to both individuals and society outweigh their risks. Many physicians actually do not have an interest in promoting pharmaceutical products, as we are no longer allowed to be lobbied by them. Therefore, as a medical community, I believe that we are giving our patients the best advice we can about getting vaccinated. It is also our job to digest the actual scientific data in order to explain it to the public, who may not have the background to fully understand the studies behind claims about things such as vaccines.
needles freak me out, so that's my lofty reason for avoiding vaccinations. this also lead to a charming experience with the swine flu, but small price to be paid, i suppose.
but honestly. the government and health care agencies LIE to us!? who would've thunk it.
Sanitation and hygiene only do so much and vaccines help do the rest. I think they all help each other but you do what you want with your kids of course. I'm just going to be smart when it comes to vaccination when I have kids.
@TheCrazedBanana@xanga - In other words you have a financial interest in vaccines so you recommend them. Makes sense to me.
Once again, we see that doctors don't care about patients. They care about money. That's why pharmaceuticals exist. There are natural cures for every disease out there, but you never hear about them because the medical establishment can't patent them and make money off of them. Vaccines, like all other medicines, are intentionally designed to cause problems so that you get sick and go to th doctor and get medicine, which makes you even sicker. The medical establishment doesn't make money off of healthy individuals. And people wonder why I refuse to take medicine of any sort for whatever reason and refuse to go to the doctor no matter how sick or badly injured I am...
pass. i've been vaccinated for just about everything... including some experimental vaccines i volunteered for (yay extra cash!!). nothing bad happened. it's nothing but anecdotes on either side, and i don't see any reason why i should trust someone else's experience over my own. when i have kids, they're definitely getting vaccinated. and i'll send them only to schools that enforce vaccination as well.
@CecilliaMarie@xanga - i could seriously hug you for posting this.... thank you!
the thought of injecting my baby with stuff made from aborted fetal tissue just makes me sick.. i cannot do it.
2 of my favorite resources are Dr J Mercola and the NVIC.
@LadyGwenivere@xanga - The fetal tissue is the first thing that convicted me to NOT vaccinate :)
@StatelessPilot@revelife - I never agree with you on anything, but I do agree (mostly) with you on this. I don't think all doctors are in it for the money though. The one my husband and I have is pretty accepting of us not vaccinating our son :)
@CecilliaMarie@xanga - There are some that are accepting of that, but very few and far between. Also I'd assume coroporate greed is less of an issue in Canada due to the way the medical system works. When I lived in the states every doctor I ever had didn't really care about me, with the exception of the urologist who performed my vasectomy (one of the few who did what I wanted when I asked for it and didn't put up a fight on account of me not having kids). Other than that, American doctors are the spawn of Satan. Greedy, filthy scumbags!
Now living in Mexico I don't have near as much problem refusing vaccines for myself as I did in the states (it was much more of a fight there). Yes, my airline tried to coerce me into getting vaccinated but I stood my ground, and the physician who issued my medical certificate and the Mexican govenment defended and protected me from termination (despite not believing in religion at all, I claim a religious exemption which offers me automatic protection, same as in the states and Canada).
@CecilliaMarie@xanga - i just about fell over when I found that out while doing my research on vaccines. Believe it or not I used to be pro-vaccine.. I even started my research with the mind set that I was going to be right about all the good stuff.. then all the negatives came out.. and now I know that the risks far out weight any possible benefits of pumping innocent little bodies full of toxins. Being a fosterparent makes things pretty complicated, but we have been very successful when it comes to using a delayed schedule for shots, nothing before 1 year old (and then only the absolute basic must have shots). I also will not permit the MMR all in one shot to be given, it must be the individual shots. The thing I love about being Canadian means I have a choice, and I get to make that choice for my kids and the ones in my care.
does this dumb-but no understand what anti-bodies do?
also the length a vaccine works depends on the mutation of the virus....
the guy is so uneducated I wanted to stab myself/him in the face so I couldn't watch more then 10 minutes.
If your dumb enough to believe this and not vaccinate your children PLEASE DO NOT REPRODUCE....
@TheCrazedBanana@xanga - How can you agree with the Varicella vaccination? Is it simply because people don't want to miss a week of work to take care of their sick child? What an inconvenience...
Would any adult willingly take an infected or tainted blood transfusion? Would anyone consider such a transfusion for an infant whose immune system isn't yet fully developed? If you knew there were several thousand adverse events reported for a given vaccine, the majority of which produce symptoms that cause unusual behaviors, and the ultimate diagnosis of said behaviors is autism, would you still opt to vaccinate? That's like playing Russian Roulette!
Don't forget that the HIV virus came in with monkeys used for polio vaccine. In early PA, 1879, one of my direct ancestors died of smallpox. His wife had been inoculated and didn't get it. The serum was safe then because it didn't contain harmful ingredients. Comparing it to modern vaccines is apples and oranges. Once foreign DNA is injected into a person, it can't be removed. Toxic metal derivatives and chemical compounds are no better.
I'm glad I'm past child-bearing age so I don't have to wrestle with the controversy. My sister has 2 sibling grandchildren whose autism set in right after their vaccinations were started. I have 6 great grands.... so far, no problems but I'll never forget the 4 days and nights of hell after my older daughter got her measles shot 45 years ago. I wouldn't wish that on anyone!!
I get the big, important ones, but the year flu vaccine is a no-no for me. I'd rather get the flu once every few years and get a natural, broad-spectrum resistance to it than get a shot that will only protect me against one strain of the flu.
It's hilarious how worked up people get over something that started with a study overseas that had completely made-up information....
@alsigirl@xanga - You know that one study has been proven absolutely, without a doubt,100% false, right?
@MutineerCashier@xanga - Except for the studies "proving" it false have all been funded by drug companies who have a financial interest in selling vaccines, and as such should not be trusted. Medicine is designed to make you sicker, not better, and that includes vaccines.
Here are my points
1. They give an infant the exact same dose as a 400 pound man
2. Some ingredients in many vaccines are considered very dangerous and unnecessary (monkey puss and mercury)
3. I know people who have become slightly brain damaged from the Hep B vaccine and actually won settlements against their employers for forcing vaccines on the employees.
I myself have never been vaccinated and I don't plan on it unless something like Polo breaks out again.
@vexandcigarettes@xanga - Employers can NEVER force vaccines on someone. My airline tried to force them on me, so I claimed a religious exemption, and that was the end of that. If they fire you at that point, that's grounds for suit based on religious discrimination.
Seeing as every single one of these points have all been debunked thoroughly, I think it's irresponsible to not vaccinate your kids. And anyone who thinks vaccinations cause Autism is an uneducated ponce.
