  • Yay or Nay? The End of Cartoon Cereals

General Mills, known for their breakfast cereals, has been making changes in their kids cereals, such as Lucky Charms. Mills wanted to drop 5 grams of sugar from their recipe, and now they have 10g of sugar (from the previous 15) -- but it's still too much to be considered a healthy breakfast.

They say that if cereals are lower than 9g is too low that it would no longer appeal to children. 9g is just the borderline of the "sweetness threshold," which makes them labeled as borderline junk food.

But Mills has "pledged to reducing that number, which may mean the end of cartoon/candy breakfast era."

I'm happy that General Mills is making an initiative for a healthy breakfast options, but I have to say I'm a little sad, since I grew up with Frosted Flakes, Cocoa Puffs, and Pops!

What do you think? Do you think they should change the recipes? Or keep it for old times sake? What is your favorite cartoon cereal?
