  • The Rules of Commenting

    Our dear Healthkicker readers -

There seems to be a lot of hate going around on our health-driven site lately. We read your comments and we hear your complaints, and so we're giving you a code to live by when deciding to read posts and comment.

Rule #1 - Don't be hateful. This should be self-explanatory, but apparently it's not. It's one thing to disagree with a person's thoughts and beliefs, but it's another to start cursing them out for having them. Don't do that.

Rule #2 - Choose your reads wisely. If you know that a particular writer tends to aggravate you, then don't read his or her posts. You'll only feel inclined to start a commenting war, and this could lead into doing things we're against in Rule #1.

Rule #3 - Know when to stop. We love when you all engage and interact with each other - that's what a blogging community is all about. But there's also a time to stop, too. If your point is not being accepted by whoever your back-and-forth is with, then decide when is good to end the conversation. Debates that go too far end up resulting in things we're against in Rule #1.

We want you all to be able to actively react and talk about the posts we feature for you all to read, but it's been going a little too far lately. We reserve the right to delete hateful comments and actively do so, so make sure your comments don't fall into the trap.

Let us know of any additional rules that you think people should live by when commenting in the comment section below.

Play nice, readers. And stay healthy.

    - The Healthkicker Team
