Why Sleep is Important
"Health is wealth" is a ubiquitous phrase that stick to my mind. Somehow, I did not realize that a good night's sleep of 7 hours can ward off heart diseases and other health conditions.
Really, I could not figure out how does getting a good night's sleep manages to prevent us from succumbing to heath problems. Somehow, the study shows that diabetes may occur if the circadian rhythm of human is thrown off. According to ScienceDaily, a circadian rhythm is a roughly 24 hour cycle in the physiological processes of living beings.
Artificial light in the room and sleeping after 2AM can get rid and disturb our natural circadian rhythm in the body. The disrupting of circadian rhythm due to artificial light may stop the production of melatonin. It is a fact that melatonin is vital in fighting cancer and regulate our body. Without melatonin, the body is missing something important and this is not a good thing.
In order not to lose the melatonin in the body, we must sleep before 12AM. Really, sometimes we can never have consistent sleeping time when there are tasks to be completed. So here's the tips to sleep better that I'd found here to boost melatonin production:
1. Turn off television and computer
2. Avoid bright light before bed
3. Use a flashlight to go to the bathroom at night
Prevention is better than cure. It is better to practice it in order to stay healthy.
How do you make sure you're getting enough sleep? What's your go-to sleep remedy?

Looks like I'll be dying from some disease sometime soon.
@Joseph - Oh I can sleep. I just wish I had more time to hit the snooze button
The key to good sleep is routine. Get up at the same time everyday, even if you don't go to sleep at the same time every night. Your body will automatically force you to sleep earlier if you're tired, and you'll find yourself getting much better sleep at night.
I was awake @ 4.30am on Monday of this week. I decided to get up and dry my plates etc, I did my ironing and put away some clothes. By the time I did all that it was nearly 6am so I got ready for work.
Last night I was in bed by 10pm. I slept through like a dream so maybe that is an answer for people if they cannot sleep.
Taking Natural Calm magnesium in warm water before bed helps me.
I think sleeping is so important. When you are exercising on a regular basis you need to sleep. you will definitely benefit from it.
