  • New Year's Resolutions

2013 is just around the corner. Everyone usually has their normal resolutions such as stop smoking, lose weight, be a better person, be more outgoing, or landing that promotion. When I was a teenager I made a list of resolutions every year and I took them seriously. I am twenty-four now and I haven't made a list of resolutions in years.

This year I hit a wall. More Here...

  • Holiday Peace (With Eating)

The seasons of dieting tend to go like this: feel guilty/crash diet from November-February. March-April consists of trying to lose winter fat for spring break. And then May-October is trying to maintain the summer body.

But let's focus on November-February, the holiday season. We already made it through Thanksgiving and Hannukah, but there's still Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year's Eve and the abundance of chocolate available for Valentine's Day (whether you're single or not - there's always chocolate there for support).

  • A Response: Why Wrongful Birth Lawsuits Should Be Taken Seriously

I was reading this fascinating article on Healthkicker "Why Wrongful Birth Lawsuits Should Be Taken Seriously" By some defective. (Please read, so that this post makes sense!) I suppose, since we are given, repeatedly, by the defective, the title of some book that validates everything he says; and given the obvious, that it was written down and published, then obviously it must all be valid. So I figured I'd also take the idea of Wrongful Birth lawsuits seriously.

I've read a couple of news articles recently about parents suing for "wrongful birth" of overly talented children. Parents of children born with exceptional intelligence, powerful muscles, or even having extremely good looks have sued medical staff for allowing their children to be born instead of advising them accordingly to terminate the pregnancy in the event that their children may be more successful than they have been. Unfortunately, these cases have all been thrown out of court, even though I think they have legitimate complaints. More Here...

  • Autism and Christmas Time

    This post originally appeared here.

Christmas holidays have arrived and with it they bring the crazy, lots and lots of crazy. My girls are so hyped by the impending arrival of Christmas day it has been a struggle to get them to focus on much at all. We go from excited screams to hysterical tears within seconds and then bounce back again, repeatedly. More Here...

  • Secretly Dehydrated

I drink water constantly. You'll rarely see me anywhere without a water bottle in hand. I drink about 2.5 liters of water on most days. Yesterday, at a functional medicine appointment, I found out that my water levels were 13% lower than what they should be. I couldn't believe that I was dehydrated, given the sheer volume of water I consume. More Here...
